I decided to germinate the seeds I bought.
Mango and NL#5 x Shiva, 5 of each.

I put them in moistened rockwool cubes and put them in a cloning chamber to keep the humidity high.

Good enough, or should I have germinated them on a paper towel first?

This better work or I'm **** out of luck, and cash.

Should I spray them with some nutrients?
I have all my hydro supplies and my grow area pretty much set up.

I guess I'm just nervous because if for some reason they don't germinate all that money will be lost.

no need for nutes this early, in fact no needs for nutes for the first few weeks.

you should be ok, just don't over water them, keep the rockwool damp and warm (not hot) room temp is good enough.

have a read of the germ 101

https://www.hempcultivation.com/420/...threadid=22792

I just germinated my seeds using this method and had 100% germination (I later killed 2 of the seeds by fussing over them too much) I think it might have been better for me to have just put them in rock wool and left them alone but I couldn't handle the excitement of not knowing what they were up too

good luck

hmm, the germ guide is based on the wet paper towel technique and recomends to keep them in the dark (from memory) if you are using rockwool it would be nice if the first thing the seedling sees when it pops its head it is some nice light

let them germ for a few days in the rock wool (where its dark cause they are under ground) and then stick some floros on them or stick them in a sunny window like I did.

my grow guide might help

failing that do a search, there is LOADS of info here

I won't be putting them under my fluorescent until it actually breaks through the surface.. because otherwise it's just a waste of electricity.

Although I spent $40 on the seeds which is far less than what some people have paid, I just wish there was more I could do to ensure high germination rates.

That's nature I guess.
