Hey all... for the first time I've germ'd using the 'wet paper towel' technique instead of the 'plant in soil' or good old germ-free clone technique . I'm a bit worried tho' that I didn't do the right thing when putting the suckers in the soil. First off, most of my babies' roots were quite long when I did put them in soil - basically coz they just shot out real quick (i.e. within 24hrs) of putting them in the papertowels. They were also kinda curly - so I didn't know which part of them should be pointing to hell! I have 12 and I'm happy I did 5 right - I pointed the very tip to hell - but the first 7 I kinda pointed straight down the part of the root nearest the seed itself (if that makes sense) - anyway suffice it to say that this would result for my 'C' shaped roots in the tip NOT pointing straight down (like I now think it should). Anyway!!! This is not the main point of my post (although if someone with more experience can tell me not to worry about these things that would rock ) . What is freaking me out (this never happened when I 'planted in soil') is that I currently have 8-9 little monsters emerging from the soil - the suckers have brought the seeds up out of the soil with them so they look like little spermies I guess . Is this normal??? Or at least something to not worry about??? I'm guessing that the complete opening of the seed (or enough to let the cotyledons free) is something that takes time... slow increasing pressure kinda thing... so I'm trying no to worry... it's just that in the past this has always happened under the soil and out of my sight! Is it all good or should I give the suckers a hand (coz I can... obviously...)? Thanks for any thoughts...

Everything sounds fine in your planting of the seeds. Yes you can help, carefully pry the seed’s shell away, being careful not to disturb the seedling.
