Well i always hear many of the same question about germinating and such, so I decided to write this guide. So i hope this helps many of you with your problems. That i read about alot in these threads.

Now you need a few items in order to germinate a seed. Now where you get your seeds doesnt really matter. You can buy them, but i personally dont, or get them from bagseed, or friends whatever. Now theres many advantages buying your seeds though. Better bud, and such, and you know what you are buyin, with the choices from Bubblegum to Chronic to skunk. But I personally get them from bagseed. In the long run this sucks for me, because my plants are unnameable and unreconizable. so i wont know certain things bout them. Like how big they can get and what they look like finished.But i personally use bagseed, just to get some weed to smoke. im sure you know how it is.

But you need seeds
that arent black, flat, white, or crushed like 70% of bagseed is.

just good round sturdy light brown seeds.. like this

now you have the seeds.



now what you say, well ill tell you you need H20 to make them sprout. and they need to stay wet, so you ask how? ok ill tell you

many ways.

The cup of mater method. which involves dropping the seeds in a cup of luke warm water.

or the wet papertowel in a zip lock bag
wheere you take a ziplock bag and put a wet paper towel in it, and u put the seeds in the bag also.(spread the seeds along the paper towels)
**O and try to use plain paper towels, not one that has special cream, soaps and such in it** you can tell by the smell, the ones not to use smell like glue. LOL

or a cup thats filled with wet paper towels and u dump the seeds in the paper towels and put more wet paper towels in it

or you can just put the seeds in the dirt and hope for the best...

but in any case you are going to have to store them in a dark warm place, no matter what choice you chose. Its because seeds like that feeling. you might try under bed, on top of fridge, or in a dresser drawer or anywhere you can find

. and you wait a day.
the next day check to see if any are growing.

if theres not you can wait i say about a week, make sure you check every day, because you dont want your plants growing too much in the bag, cup,. etc.. . if nothing grows in a week id say get diff. seeds.
if there is any seeeds growing (trust me youll know), theyll be showing whats called a (taproot) whitch is a little tail poking out of the seed. put the cup down and get the soil ready..
you are goin to water the soil as if there were a seed in it already.. this is to moisten the soil and pack it down a little.
now using a thin object (preferebly a pen,(not the tip) the flat part)
pop a 1 to 1 1/2 in. hole in the middle of the soil..
now go back to the seeds and dump that seed into soil that you watered. now it doesnt matter how the seed falls in the whole, (which way the root faces does NOT matter) the root will go down becasue of gravity so just put the seed in the hole and cover up with a little extra dirt. now put your pot filled with the seeds and put under light. wait about 2 days and you should see this............If you dont, no worries just wait longer, but remember you dont water your bowl for a few days and by that time is should be fully out of the soil.

now you can choose many diff. lighting methods 24/7 ,18/6 or anything.. but i use 24/7 and it works great for me..

you are going to want a good light FLORO.. is what i use and it works great, becasue the light doesnt get too hot to burn the babys. but a few inches away and watch the babies GROW..

if your baby starts stretching out think of it as STRETCHING for light you need to get more light on the plant so get more. or put your light closer to the plant. try to keep stretching below 2 inches....
DO not use normal bulb lights from your home. they will not work.. they are cool white or somthing and will not work. so use floros (about 10 bucks at Home Depot)

if my bag of papertowels and water dries out do i just plant the seeds even if they havent shown taproots?

It depends on how many days it took to dry, if less then a week just rewater the bag, i usually fill my bag up with water and turn the bag sideways, if it has a approx. 1/2 inch of water on bottom of bag, then you should be fine until, taproots are shown. If more then a week, get new seeds.





If my taproots start getting really big (over 2 inches) can i still plant them in soil?

Yes you can. In many occasions for me this has happened, and i just put the seed in the soil anyway and have had them grow. always remember SOIL SHOULD BE WET WHEN YOU PUT THE SEEDS IN THE SOIL..
------also remember, the longer you let the seed grow in the bag, the less of a chance you have of the plant growing .-------------




Should i germinate or soak my seeds in ANYTHING else but water?

you may hear different answers for this question, but i would say NO. water if fine and any nutrient base solution, isnt necessary this early in the growth.. NORMAL WATER IS FINE..
