Obvious questions (to you maybe)- how long will seeds last

I'm going to start growing really soon. My friend offered me his house to use, so I won't really be involved in the legalities (his property, and as long as the cops don't bust in while I'm actaully cultivating I should be OK). Anyway, I have a good amount of seeds (I'd say fifty from an old man i met randomly) and about 3 (i can get more) from the good stuff we usually get. the only problem is that I can't really store it in a fridge. So I've been keeping it in a glass ar in a cool, place. I was just wondering how long they'll last. I mean, they look pretty good (according to what I read here) and they passed the crush test, so I was wondering if I should just plant and see what happens, or if i should consider just sucking it up and buying off a seed bank.

Wrap them beans in ph balanced water moistened kleenex, stick in a humidity dome and wait for them to pop.
Hopefully you'll save alot of money on seeds.

Each to their own but I'd soak em in a glass of PH correct water..... inside a dome/heated propagator. Wait till the tap roots are at least a quarter inch long and presto ...... medium ready.

Burnsy.

alrighty, will do. My friend lost the bag of seeds he got las night so all we have left is the three little guys that I have. But I should be able to get more seeds from some folks I know, so it shouldn't be too bad.

I don't think anyone really addressed your question:

If I read your first post right, you're looking for a way to store those seeds, right? It sounds like you're trying to save them for a little while before you get set up. If so, then you can just keep them in a clean container (dry, but not too dry) in a dark place (cool, but not cold). As far as I know, seeds can last for years if properly stored.

that sounds about right. I keep my bud in there if I know I'm keeping it for a while. keeps it from drying out. thanks a lot for the posts, and the germination techniques. I'll most likely be using a soil grow (I'm a gardener, so I'm used to dirt) so I was wondering if there was anything really special I should do to encourage growth once the seed+taproot have been planted?

Bag Grow... Yayyyyayayayayayayyayyay

My friend just got an eight of some pretty decent stuff. This bag has seeds, which means I'll get some pretty good bag grow out of it. This makes me incredibly happy. I know it doesn't totally make up for the 50 or so lost ones, but it does mean I'll at least get more of a chance with 10 than I will with just the three I've got. YAAAY.

i've got an official count now, 13 seeds... I kinda want to try and germ one, but I won't have a place to put it if it decides to grow, and I'd hate to waste a seed..... why do I have to be so impatient?
