so yesterday i was looking for something to do
and i was thinking "hey self you have that huge bucket of seeds why dont you go through and throw out all the obviously non-viable seeds and put the good ones in some sort of vacuum bag"

so i take my bucket outside to soak some rays and smoke some jays and sort mah seeds


but

yes thats right kids there is a but the dreaded but

i started to sort.
then, being the relatively short attention spanned person that i am....i got distracted, yes DISTRACTED! i say, by a tasty looking pack of hot dogs in my fridge and i completely forgot about the seeds. i was only about a 1/4 of the way through since it is a relatively large bunch of seeds(id say about 3000-4000).

so today i wake up and am like "hey self what should we do today?"

and then i go outside to check on my babies and do the routine when i notice the bucket sitting outside

most of you by this time are saying "ok this guy left a bucket of seeds outside whats so bad?"

however being in the tropical paradise where i am (south florida) it rains and it just so hapens it rained last night and lo and behold my bucket of seeds is full of water

luckily it didnt fill enought to let the floating beans spill over the side

however now about 3/4 of my seedstock is wet and im panicky as all hell and am trying to dry them the best i can and am hoping i just didnt totally assrape myself with a sandpaper condom and no lube





DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?!?!?!

Depending on how much water your seeds imbibed you should be ok.

In fact, many commercial seeds for flowers are soaked, then quick-dried before shipping to the greenhouse.

On the other hand, at a certain point it the point-of-no-return and the seeds will germinate or die.


Use as many as you can, and the rest try to quick-dry on a screen in the sun or something

i used a tshirt and set it up as a drying screen over a halogen with a fan

well i do have 10 1k HPS lights and a CO2 enrichment system
heres a hint





that was a while back and i was only a security watch for it but its where i got my feet wet



that bag of seed is the only part of my seed stash that didnt get wet
i have 2 of those hanna grochek meters but one is brokedededed i need to get in there to the PCB and see if i can fix it somehow

and this is the bucket with the seeds it was about 3/4 of the way full of nothing but seeds seeds seeds

Shit, that doesn't help at all, sorry but we just got relief from our new baby, he decided to stop crying ... [which he has done for the last 10 or so hours, we almost took him to the hospital ... he's fast asleep now after a humongous shite ].


Soooo ... i is baked!

I still say plant 'em all! go for a walk somewhere and find a few sites, hell ... get in the car or borrow one off a mate, find those sites!
Blimey just think of the journaledge to be had

Try to dry 'em out and watch out for the ones that crack?

Ne who, what PPM c02 are you gunna be running ? Having 10k of lights is gunna run some heat, c02 will help counter that.
