![]() | once that seed has a 1/4" root coming out its ready for soil/rockwool whatever your media may be. on the other 2, check to se if the seeds have cracked, if so it wont be long before the tip emerges. If they havent, then either toss them, wait longer or just plant them and place under light.

![]() | It doesn't have to be a quarter inch tap root....as soon as you see any kind of root you can plant them in soil. About an inch deep, then cover them back up... DO NOT pack the soil over the seed, just put the dirt back as it was. Then water just a little bit. Then put saran-wrap over your pot to keep moisture in untill you see the seedling start to pop out of the soil then take it off. They dont really need light to sprout but as soon as they do you need to get some light for those babies. I'd wait and keep the paper towel moist to see if any more sprout. Next time you germinate... let the seeds sit in a cup of water overnight, then put them in the paper towel... normally takes two days from cup to soil that way. Thats with my experiences anyhow. ![]()

It's true during germination you want the soil pretty moist but also think about it.....Germination requires warmer temperatures and higher humidity. If you over do the watering there is a higher risk for mold and fungus to overtake the soil and attack the root system. You want to water the soil only enough to keep it moist, plan and simple. | I just learned about the seran wrap method so my sprouted seeds have been under the lights for about 24 hours with out it. The top layer of soil was drying out, so I sprayed them with water a few times. All this drying and wetting has left the soil kind of crusty and I'm worried that the sprout won't be able to poke thru. Do y'all think I should loosen up the dirt with a fork? Or just leave them alone now that they are under seran wrap and staying moist. Thanx all ![]()

As far as the saran wrap goes, take it off. Like I said, your plants have now begun the vegetative cycle and are ready for lights. You don't want to be using your lights while still having the saran wrap on. Check out this thread----> />>*****<<\ It talks about this particular situation a little further in depth. | I had my terms wrong, Static. I said "sprouted", but I meant that the root was just showing from out of the new seed. So, I'll be sure to remove the plastic wrap as soon as they actually do sprout. They've been in soil for just 2 days now, I think i am just getting impatient. ![]()
