Hi Selene:

Using a pencil is kind of what I was talking about.
It doesn't remove the dirt from the hole, it just shoves it down into it. There-by, compressing it. Not the best way to do it.

Later Grow Sis.

Thumbs up VERY nice Agent86!

We've used many techniques (including yours) for this grow...and we've come to the conclusion that the seed stock we're using is VERY 'unstable'! We just got ONE seed that popped outta the soil...after planting 8! And when we tried the paper towel method...we didn't see nary a tail!

But those pics are AWESOME, a guide ANY new grower can use to get their seeds started...providing the seeds are viable!

Way to grow,

pOOn

Hi Poon;

That sucks that you've got lousy seeds.
When you tried the paper towel method, did you give the seeds air twice a day & was the area you put the plates at warm?
The top of my VCR is about 95 degrees. So it's pretty warm.

Later Poon.

nice thread

I still prefer to germinate -- > seeling just in a 4inch rockwool cube

I do a similar method to you .. I put the seeds in a small glass of water for an hour, then put in the rockwool cube and water again just lightly.. Then put the cubes on a plate and onto the top of my tv

this way theres no messing around transferring from paper towel to soil etc .. ive found it fairly successful and very easy

Thanks Bro.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but could everyone please refrain from posting other methods of germinating in this thread.

I made this thread, so it would be a simple germinating guide for people to follow.
I want to keep it that way & having everybody post a bunch of different ways to germinate, will just make it confusing.

So, I thank you in advance for keeping your posts to questions about the germination proccess I have shown in this thread.

Thanks.

Good knowledge to have on the no-pencil implement spoon-instead step!
As I will be buying seeds for 2003 <giggling with anticipation already> I know I will need a tried and true method like this so I can get what we can now call "Max" Germ!

thanks again for taking the time to put it out there!

Last Pics for this journal.

Here are the sprouts 13 days after they were put into the soil.

The sprouts are now 15 days from when they were a seed.

Notice the strong stalks.
I do not have a fan blowing on them like I should, so I've been putting them through a daily exercise routine.
I put my finger at the top of the stem & bend the plant as far as I feel is safe, without harming it. I bend it over 8 to 10 times, a couple of times in each direction, up, down & side to side.

Here's the pics.
You'll notice there are only 4 plants. 2 of the 6 popped out of the soil & then didn't do jack. So I yanked them.
