Hello everyone, I had a lot of problems with my satoris but one of them finally made it! This report will be divided in 4 parts: 1. Early Satori - I chopped the top of the cola for an emergency smoke with friends when the plant was 53 days into flowering 2. Mature Satori - Plant chopped at 62 days into flowering 3. Ethanol hash from Mature Satori 4. Tincture from Mature Satori. There was mold in the upper cola when I looked at it after 3-4 days hanging so that's why I had to use some of it for tincture/hash. This report is all about the same clone/phenotype. I heard about 2 satori phenotypes (bat and spear shapes). This one was of the bat shape. Very large single cola (no LST). 1) Strain: Satori 2) Breeder: Mandala Seeds 3) Sativa/Indica 4) Grown Indoors : under a 70W HPS in a 1' x 1' x 3' cabinet. Vegged for about a month under cool white CFLs then switched to 12/12. It had a hard time sprouting, staying around 2 weeks in a vegetative state not growing much(I almost pulled it off...) The other plants around her were growing normally. But then she woke up and kept growing normally. 5) Days flowered: 62 Trichomes color(s): 10% clear, 60% cloudy, 30% amber 6) Medium used : soil, perlite (around 25-30%) 7) Nutrients : 5-10-10 (bat guano) Last edited by livefreehappy; 08-08-2008 at 10:03 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() | HASH from the mature plant (Part 3) 8) Curing method and time: No curing. The hash was extracted with 94% Ethanol found in a liquor store. Buds were trimmed then soaked in ethanol in a Masor Jar for 6 days. The liquid was filtered, poured in a flat bowl then recovered after evaporation. A little bit of flour was added to make little balls with the hash. 9) Type of high - Up/Down The high is an interesting one. It leaves your very much in control of your thoughts. Not the type of weed that will have you messed up in your head. I felt I could be able to work. There is clearly an indica influence, body high type. But I would put it in the daytime smoke category. 10) Potency: 6.5/10 I never get as high with home made hash as I do with the buds, so I could be surprised when time will come to smoke the buds. I enjoy the low potency of this ethanol hash. 0,1g gives you a nice comfortable body high with a clear yet inspired mind. The buzz lasts around 2h. 11) Brief description of taste/effects N/A 12) Medicinal uses. Mandala says its useful for depression and Restless legs syndrome. As it does not induce somnolence, I believe it could be of some use for medicinal users. Last edited by livefreehappy; 08-09-2008 at 11:47 AM..

![]() ![]() ![]() | Early Satori : 53 days into flowering (Part 1) 5) Days flowered: 53 Trichomes color(s): 40% clear, 50% cloudy, 10% amber 8) Curing method and time: No curing. The buds were harvested from the upper main cola, then trimmed and put in a dehydrator at 90F for a few hours. There was some kind of curing in mason jars for around 5 days before they were smoked. 9) Type of high - Up/Down The buds were harvested earlier so I expected a more cerebral than body high. And so it was. There was absolutely no body high, but the cerebral high was still clear. Not uplifting and no effects on the mood (no euphoria). It was a bit creepy - we smoked the joint without feeling any effects but only a few minutes later did we realize: "ok, there was something in there...". It could induce paranoid thoughts but not to the point of believing in them, as my mind was still clear. I found this harvest to be very interesting in a creative point of view. I believe Mandala when they say it enhances creativity because you feel very functional, but with an access to new ideas and thoughts. 10) Potency: 6.5/10 Still have to test the mature buds but I smoked stronger stuff than this before. It's still very good for my needs though, because I don't like to be crawling under the couch after smoking. I would use it when I'm working on some activities, like writing music for example. 11) Brief description of taste/effects Smoking device: joint. Taste was not as harsh as I read about it before, considering the exceptional methods I had to use to dry the buds. It wasn't really tasty but I enjoyed the thick smoke it produced. 12) Medicinal uses. N/A 13) Comments: I would say this is a very cerebral smoke. Acting mostly on ideas, but with very little effects on the mood, and no body effects.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Late Satori (Part 2) 5) Days flowered: 62 Trichomes color(s): 10% clear, 60% cloudy, 30% amber 8) Curing method and time: Mason jars for a week 9) Type of high - Up/Down This was clearly the best Satori experience. The buzz was clear with some kind of restlessness that made me want to move around and do things, which was not the case with the hash and the early harvest. Interestingly, Mandala says this strain is indicated for restless legs syndrome but in my case, it seemed to induce it! This effect was a positive one though, I would use it for hiking or anything that requires to be active. There was some (positive) effect on ideas, raising creativity to a higher level, and absolutely no (negative) effect on memory. There was a bit of euphoria, and no paranoia at all. 10) Potency: 7/10 You can probably go dumb with this strain but I usually stop before that point and since the effect takes a few minutes to hit, you can gauge pretty easily how much you need to reach the desired level. 11) Brief description of taste/effects Smoking device: dirty pipe. Sorry can't tell much about the taste but the smoke wasn't harsh and there was very little lung expansion. 12) Medicinal uses. N/A 13) Comments: This properly harvested Satori had a more balanced head/body high but the high is very clear so that you can basically do your usual stuff without acting ...abnormally. It really enhanced creativity without inducing paranoia, and also produced a certain degree of restlessness. A great day smoke but I would not take it at bedtime.
