I don't blame you for that one. i actually chucked out an arjan haze cause of the very same reason ut kept my big buddha cheese for after 13 weeks and even this at 8 weeks i would have to say was better. Let me clarify this a bit better. This strain can be harvested anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks or over and it seems to only get stronger. I am not sure if I will say better because here is the thing; I did staggered harvesting and the very first one I harvested smoked great even with microwave drying. ![]() Yes I know it is the worst way to try but I was so anxious cause it smelled so so good. Then when I waited properly for it to dry it was exquiste. The next one I waited a week longer and then another week for the next one. At first i thought I was wrong in the harvesting time and was kicking myself for not harvesting them all at the same time BUT then i waited for it too cure some and it was just a strong version of the smooth rich chocolate and mellow flavour of the chocolope At first when I toke a hit it had a real strong bite to it and was completely different.I was thinking ............. ummmm...ok never mind what i was thinking ![]() But when i waited and let her chill and smooth out a bit; she was not only as good only more potent. Even knowing this I think i will still stagger harvest the next lot of strains which is coming up in another 4 or 5 weeks. I really like the differences in buzz appeal as well as the flavour. I'd say if you flower this lady for 9 weeks you would be delighted all the same. Thanks to you also Lou. I will try and shut up about this strain now and concertate on another but it isn't easy This stuff has me totally thrilled. ![]() Actually gosh....thanks to everyone. i did not realize all the posts. i will get back to some of you later as i have to finish mowing the lawn. ![]() This is gonna knock your socks off regardless if you are a chocolaholic YES she truly deserves to be a ![]() Here is a bit more information about the strain from various sources: Burnt,....email and I have been friends for years now and i was the one who brought him over to this site Hey i am generous but no fool either ![]() ![]() Once you all grow it and are completely blown away yourselves ....you can thank me then when we are all ![]() chillin on chocolope ![]() Some requestted information From Ed Rosenthal's Big Book of Buds Volume 3 Chocolope (also known as D-Line) Breeder: DNA Genetics Sativa/Indica: 95/5 High: Old School Flavor: Chocolaty Flowering: 63-70 days Parents: O.G. Chocolate Thai x Cannalope With D-Line, DNA Genetics continues their project of creating tasty short-flowering sativas and reviving the classic features of old school Thai stick. The strain's father, Cannalope, is a sativa line backcrossed for fast finishing. DNA refined this feature still further, then crossed a Cannalope male with an Original Chocolate Thai female. Tasting is believing: the result retains the special flavors and effects of the OG Chocolate Thai, and lives up to the nickname Chocolope in flavor as well as genetics. It brings back a chocolate edge that was more common among good weed of the 1980s, mixed with the fruity sweetness of the Cannalope. D-Line is a branchy near-pure sativa that will take over your garden if you let her. This plant needs some space to spread out her long branches. Hydro, coco beds, NFT, it's all good: the Chocolope likes all mediums, although she remains untested outdoors. DNA vegetates the D-Line for 3-4 weeks and then forces flowering, preferring to raise fewer plants to larger sizes. D-Line is a happy eater and can be pushed when it comes to nutrients, although DNA recommends sticking to the organics for the best quality . Using this combination of fewer but bigger plants and organic nutrients, DNA reports an average yield of 100 grams (3.5 oz.) per plant. If you want to avoid a 3-4 week vegetative period and plant 20-25 plants per square meter in a more sea of green style, yields can reach 400-600 grams (14-21 oz.) per square meter. On the whole, D-Line is much easier to grow than her Chocolate Thai ancestors. "Give her love," says DNA, "and she will yield for you." The D-Line still delivers traits many growers sought from the classic Thai strains - choco-smokey flavor and a dreamy high with a strong mental shift. If you are trying to alleviate anxiety, nervousness, or lack of appetite, the Chocolope is your strain. However, smokers who are sensitive to paranoia or psychedelic effects might approach this variety with caution. Even experienced smokers sometimes report unusually comic situations due to the "high school" like stone of the D-Line. Some consider this advice a recommendation: the chocolaty 1980s high is euphoric and trippy blast from the not-so-distant past that can spice up any weekend. INFO FROM THE SEED BANK Chocolope Cannabis Seeds, which were originally named D-Line, are a novice grower's dream plant! With a uniquely heavy yield and large heavy nugs, she is extremely easy to grow. This Sativa heavy plant likes to grow tall so beware if space is an issue, however she can grow out with a little training. We chose to cross our Original Chocolate Thai female with the Cannalope male, and then started backcrossing this to achieve a shorter flower time and still retain some of the Original Chocolate Thai qualities. What makes these Cannabis Seeds so special is that when you enjoy her you taste that chocolate you've been missing from the 80's! The Chocolope is the "ONE"! Not much haze, but you don't need it. __________________ Last edited by Lacy; 06-16-2009 at 06:19 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You know, its kind funny cause, I did follow Torch's journal on his choco and I wasn't so thrilled with the fact that he insisted that the strain taste its best at 12 weeks and no less. I mean, I do have patience but damn....I was kind thrilled to leave those sativa strains behind and get on with fast indicas. But 9 weeks I can live with, and you made it sound so sweet that will worth the wait. Besides I'll be building another room (yes again ) after I move next month, so I'll make sure to build a little corner with a single 400 and put couple choco's under it.Keep them sexy smoke reports coming young Lady. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Lacy...I think you may have wanted to direct the comment you made to me to burndt. But it's all good. I'm thrilled that you have found something wondrous and turned us all on to it. We'll see what the stork has to say..hopefully soon. Then, it's time to line up the next batch for the runway, so to speak. Great info...thanks for posting. I predict that you have caused a chocolope tsunami here and there will be a bevy of Grow Journals chronicling the blessed events. (Kinda like births nine months after a city wide blackout). Just to clarify, you flowered yours for approx. nine weeks? The high is wonderful at that point, I take it..and you seem to like the taste as well...right? Choco hints? Thanks!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thank you Lacy for the well done smoke report. High praise for the Chocolope... I'm more than intrigued. I've got to try this strain now. Your description of it should be on the seedbank sites instead of the jibberish they have up there. ![]()

![]() ![]() | Yeah much thanks, Lacy! I ordered some Chocolope seeds a few weeks ago and they came in last week. They're about 4 days out of the ground now and I can't wait to try the smoke! I germed 3, hoping to find a slightly-better-than-the-rest pheno for a permanent mom, but this first rip I'll be taking clones off of all 3. I'll be sure to start a journal.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks everyone including winston , mayan, camper and others Thanks so much. Winston....I think they shoud give me dibs on a the sales.... Totally kidding. ![]() Gosh i am so sorry that i have no responded to these posts A couple of months ago i actually changed my subsrciptions I'm not sure what i actually did but now I get some threads and don't get any of these others that i started. I'm not very good at computers at times ![]() I know you aren't going to be disappointed BUT there is something that i must warn you about this strain There is another pheneotype in the batch of chocolope seeds that is inferior in growing. The smoke is just as good perhaps even better BUT it is VERY light sensitive. Four out of five were the strong ones but i had one that was different. It is not as strong a grower as the other phenptypes Here are the characteristic traits if you have one of these ones It is a lot slower grower The leaves tend to be very crinkly and curl more It look weak and sickly almost BUT fear not,.....it is still a good strain just a LOT more senstive At first i thought it was just a dud seed but my good friend email has one and it is growing the same way. I think he may add a picture of her so you can see. He admits that he can already detect the chocolope smell already in the early stages of flowering. Hopefully he will have more to add here. I do not suggest putting any of these girls outdoors. When it says it is for indoor growing ONLY they really meant it Putting one of these girls outdoors is not a very good idea as she cannot handle the intensity of the sun and her leaves will start to disintergrate She belongs indoors only. I am planning on ordering some more seeds as i stupidly used all my up ![]() I'd sure love to hear any comments or reviews of anyone else growing this baby Once you catch a wiff of her, you will never forget it The cured buds strangely enough smell like baked banana bread: Don't have a clue why but it has a very intoxicating smell and flavour Last edited by Lacy; 07-28-2009 at 07:28 AM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Good Morning Lacy!!!! How are you today, hope your feeling good... A medi friend of mine informed me the other day he went to Vancouver and picked up some clones one of which is a chocolope and asked if I wanted a clone of one? Of course being the chocoholic that I am my reply was absolutely ... I haven't recieved it yet but, knowing its on its way and thinking I can not wait for that aroma to mingle with the many other aromas of flowering medicine in my home. Thanks Lacy, for bringing this variety to our attention.. Wishing you all the best for the rest of the week Have a Great day your friend don
