What should the Ph level of the siol be for omptimum growing conditions? Here are my 3 plants and their Ph levels: AK-47/7.3, Northern Lights/7.1, Original Big Bud/7.2. Is this ok? How high and how low would be the most I should let it go? ![]()

![]() | that should be fine but eventually you will have to lower the ph eventually. I use wood ash, I just get some branches laying on the ground and burn them in my grill, get the ashes and put then on top of the soil. its supposed to neutralize the soil. the ideal ph is between 6.5 and 7 but a little over won't hurt anything

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Umm .. wood ash is alkaline and will raise the pH higher than what it is... There are many organic and inorganic ways to lower soil pH. Just pick one Bat guano tea is one way to lower a couple of notches. Or aluminum sulfate is another one for inorganic one but must be used carefully... LB

I don't know if this is kosher or not with the growmasters, but this is my first grow and I've been having pretty good luck with adding a mild organic acid to my water to prevent nutrient lockup. I've been using citric acid, which you can buy in the local grocery as 'sour salt' (there's no salt in it) in the spice aisle. I've been putting a tablespoon or two in each gallon of water along with some slow-release ferts I got. I suppose you could use lemon juice as well to the same effect... I think it's the same stuff. I wouldn't recommend vinegar (acetic acid), but I don't really have a reason why not. I just worry I'd pickle my plants. ![]()
