Question What about this for pH?
permalink

I am not grasping on how to change the pH of your soil. I work at a pet store and we sell pH decreasers for aquarium water. I was wondering if I would just put that in the water until the pH is around 6.8 and then water the MJ splant when it needs it. I would check the pH every day in the soil and just put the pH decreaser in the water until the desired pH. Do you think this would work and change the pH of the soil? Also, if you dont think it will can you please post another thread or explain how I could change the pH of the soil, and with what items. I have checked the Grow Guide but it only says what the ph should be at and not how to change it. Thank you all in advance.

Yes, aquarium pH down and up type products will work to change soil pH. Vinegar and peat moss will also reduce pH, and lime will raise it.

So do I just put it in the water when I am going to water the plant regularly, and if it goes up more just continue to put the solution in the water when it needs watering. and then the 6.8 or so pH water will also bring down the soil pH to that number? Thanks for your relpy

Yes, put it in the plants' regular water, being sure to mix well, and always check the pH of the water before you apply it to the plants. If you want to bring the pH down to 6.8 use water that is slightly below that so that the resulting soil pH is between what it is now and the pH of the water.
