Well I added my bananas a little late. I think I started them around a month of veg. I got 2/2 females though, so take that for what it's worth 79

Hey guys... I've been watching this from the beginning so I don't think I missed any questions, but I apologize if I did. Anyway.. 1. When trying this with an autoflowering strain like LR2, since they can show sex in a 17-21 days, when would the optimal placement time be? As soon as it sprouts? 2. Say you were trying for 3 females and one male...would you just try and keep the bananas as far away from it as possible? Actually, I was thinking about this when I first started reading the thread and it was looking like 100% success so far, so it might not be relevant anymore. Thanks!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | As for #1, who knows? It probably hasn't been tried - you could be the first! It's all an experiment. As for #2 I've decided not to take chances and I'm not using bananas on seeds I want to breed. With my luck (and history) I'd get all females.

Just to update though, the first AK got balls...and I killed it. The second is a no show so far. I think thats a good thing, because most of the females in the past showed after the males did. I'm going to cut a few clones tonight and put one in flower- been alternating nodes for a week or so now....cmon banana! EDIT- remember, these were hermie seeds, so I can't really say it didn't work for the first one....just couldn't un-hermie it.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You put the banana under the plant at about 21 days, and leave it until day 35-40. You'll have to change the banana's out though as they'll rot and soon bring an infestation of mold and bugs to your garden.

![]() | This has to be the craziest thing I've ever heard of. If someone told me about this without explaining the actual science of ethylene production behind it, I'd have pointed and laughed in their face. BlueCheese, you may very well be a modern pioneer in MJ growing.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | no hijack intended here Blue.... Do you remember the folic acid idea? I think there's a lot in it. It sure changed my ratios last year by a LOT. I'll be using it again this season. Peace- OD
