![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | there is about 50 pages explaining how it works. pretty much it is that ethylene and auxins are used by the plant to form enzymes that promote femaleness, among some other effects. it has been proven by scientific studies that ethylene promotes femaleness, and the inverse, that inhibiting ethylene reduces the chances of femininity in many plant. in this case, cucumbers: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Further studies of auxin and ACC induced feminization in the cucumber plant using ethylene inhibitors. "The present study was designed to establish the role of an essential hormone controlling sex expression in cucumber. A potent anti-ethylene agent, AgNO3, completely inhibited pistillate flower formation caused by IAA, ACC or ethephon. Inhibitors of ethylene biosynthesis, AVG and CoCl2 also suppressed feminization due to exogenous IAA or ACC. Though AVG also suppressed ethephon-induced feminization, this may be due to the second effect of AVG rather than the effect on ACC biosynthesis. These results confirm that ethylene is a major factor regulating feminization and that exogenous auxin induces pistillate flower formation through its stimulation of ethylene production, rather than ACC production." ( Takahashi H, Jaffe MJ.; 1984) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the problem still is that it is unproven whether placing a banana, which releases a relatively low amount of ethylene, under a cannabis plant during its bisexual stage promotes femaleness. if the government didnt restrict/deny the use of cannabis in scientific studies then we might know the effects of ethylene and other compounds on it. i figure a banana costs a quarter. why not? -iDub

And it promotes "Flowering",,, Which in our case would slightly coax the plant into being female.... If thats what you ment about promoting femaleness, i agree... Nothing here is trying to be proven, its called a religion so people wouldnt tare it apart with speculation , and science, We have an idea of how it works,,,, its simple Take a banana, put it under your plants, and pray for females,,,,, its really that easy.. ![]()

![]() well...whether it is proven or not (to the masses; and their various environmental variables)..it works like a charm for me... 2 confirmed females..no pics(shtty cam)... started with 3...still waiting on the third to show.. lst'd the two girls...and the unconfirmed was topped 2 weeks ago...but i threw a up under her(?) too..i think it doesnt "help" per-say with veg growth...more-so, that it speeds up veg growth; promotes maturity.....at least thats my observation and i might suggest no cutting the ..they attract mold when cut n left on soil...just my ![]()

![]() | Wow, it is truly amazing how much creativity and experimenting this site and the old overgrow site has fine tuned the art of ganja growing. Is 3 weeks and 3 days too old to try the nanner trick? I guess it wouldn't hurt. Peace ![]()
