has anyone ever heard of someone trying to geneticly alter/enhance marijuana? like they've done with corn, in order to increase yeild or potency? i know it can be done thru breading, but there must be scientists in countries were MJ is legal that have tried this, anyone know anything about this? just think of the possibilities, super potent super high yeilding aand super fast flowering with the ability to be harvested multiple times. And you never know, maybee they can develop a strain that can grow during the winter, like pine trees do. now that would be cool.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There was just an article in the latest news forum about some mexican cartel farmers that were growing some kind of crazy strain that would both go year round, and come back to life after being "destroyed" by the narcotics police. Now, those kind of details are always relayed to the public by the prohibitionists for the sake of sensational fear mongering so I dont know if thats true.. but eh ya know. maybe!

![]() ![]() | i haven't heard of it. i'd be skeptical because we're talking about a narcotic effect. corn equals calories and nutreints, pot has much more going on in our chemical reactions to it. i'd fear any genetic tampering would screw that up. maybe. i dont know s**t about it, actually.

![]() ![]() | How about a genetically engineered strain that: -Grows perennially - Same plant comes back year after year. Great of outdoor remote locations. Just trim it back in the spring and let it go. -Grows large using very little nutes. -Super resistant to drought, bugs and diseases. -Maximize resin & trichome production One can only dream i suppose. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | if they can do it with corn, they can do it with MJ, those scientists in holland need to get to work, the technology is there, someone just has to put it to good use. What would be really cool is if they were able to inject some MJ dna into say a normal looking shrub or house plant, in wich its buds produced high amounts of thc but looked like everyday plants. That would all but make marijuana legal seeing as how it would be virtually undetectable by law enforcment especially if you made all kinds of diffrent plants be able to produce thc, imagine having a big ass thc producing walnut tree in your backyard, or a big as vegtable garden that only looks like a vegtable garden.

Wow now THATS a great idea! How about a strain of lawn grass that produces fast maturing trichomes? After you mow your lawn, use the clippings and make hash. I know my lawn would make a few ounces of hash EVERY WEEK ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | yes, I would actually LOVE cutting my grass. I gotta say tho, my lawn would probly be very patchy from me picking at it so much . While we're at it tho, why not make it undetectable in drug tests too. That would be great. I must admit tho, if they did come up with this super duper altered stuff, i would proly steer clear of it. Geniticly enhanced anything sounds like a lot of chemicals. I like things just the way nature intended them. But still, it would be awsome if they did it. I'm sure its proly possible to grow THC into other plants tho. They grow buds without THC in them, so they must kno what it is that causes the THC to be produced, they can proly take that and breed it into some other kind of random house plant. They grew a EAR off the back of a MOUSE, anything is possible.

Not personally gq ... but I imagine there's been all kinds of tinkering with mother nature in the field. Why wouldn't they?? Look at the potential?? $$$.Changing from an annual to a perennial would be absolutely awesome .... not likely to happen though, people can only f*ck with mother nature to a point.Enjoy your own bud ... it's imo one of the easiest plants to grow!! ![]() jv

my friend, thats why its all about genetics. we just have to match them up to our personal needs. the best thing is, this is all done naturally. we need more breeders who are good at what they do, and we would be much further advandced. i do see plants with amost liquids of resin ozzing out in about 10-20 years. we havent stopped 15 years ago with what we had, and we arent stopping now. in 10 years it will probably be hard to find bad genetics. at least im hopieng. and plants can come back the next year, it just has to be warm enough durring the off months. this is the same as reveging a plant, just a little slower. ive grown and harvested one plant 4 times. i could have cloned it, but just wanted to test it out. it was the same each time, just a little bushier and stronger. ![]()
