![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | all the crap branches, older spent shade leaves, [the original ones that while still greenish, are rough and dry, on way to yellow. [ Any loss of N and photosynthesis is made up for by the extra light on healthy leaves and resultant growth]. put all the energy into the best buds and branches. Makes a huge difference i agree Barney Barn, light gets to everything, neater and more efficient. Best wishes nigel

![]() | agreed I find a heavy pruning at the 3rd week of flower works great but before that it can really make them stretch. Lollipops are my favorite thing IN THE WORLD! cheers ps. I don't bother cutting off all the fans as they will fall off anyway by week 6 or so. Unless air movement or humidity becomes an issue.

![]() ![]() | it looks like rather than feed fan leaves its going straight to the callexs, and looking like it also increases the callax ratio as there is more bud than leaqves growing. i am going to lollipop another.. the first one i did it all at once, big ol bag of leaves.. hasent stunted any growth here.

![]() | I don't think of fan leaves as something that takes much "growth energy". At least its a small fraction compared to shooting branches. I see them as storage that helps maintain a good balance of "ready to go" nutrients that the plants need. Sort of like how a grocery store has storage in the back so they don't need to have dozens of deliveries every day. I do agree though that you don't need them for growth at this point. So are you gonna show off those ladies or what? lollipops make me drool...

one i did, notice its bigger than the other 2..and it was the runt, when lsting in veg i snapped the main stem, then 4 shoots took its place. i lollyed the other 3 this am. not the best pic. i surmize they will be ready july 4th to harvest them. notice i like to leave the lower bud sites alone and not chop them,,as the the tall ones will get chopped first then a couple more weeks and the bottoms will be alot bigger, ready to go next.Last edited by barney barn; 06-09-2009 at 04:57 AM..

![]() | sweeeeet! Looks like some nice work barney barn! You'll be surprised how quickly the little fans will move in to take the place of the big ones. At least you should get a week of good light penetration before it fills back in I would like to clean mine up some after seeing a fresh trim like that but I only have 2 weeks to go and feel as though I should leave em. Here's a couple of mine from my sog.

![]() | Those two are white widows. I grew them out from seed last grow and had some monsters after 8 weeks veg. I kept one for a mom and took a bunch of cuttings to start a SOG. I can say without a doubt this round will be more efficient, better overall quality and consistent cola tightness! I love SOG! The smaller plant was put into flower about 10 days from taking the cutting so it was barely rooted. BTW your pic inspired me to take another look at my jungle and I couldn't resist thinning it out some. My RH was starting to climb up to 60% so by thinning it helped to drop it back down to just over 50% under the canopy. I try not to use the dehumidifier unless it gets over 60%. Here's a before and after pic. I left lots of green and I'm going to start flushing tonight. Its amazing how fast you can fill a grocery bag with leaves. Once you start its hard to stop, especially when you keep seeing more BUD! ![]() ![]()
