What would be the advantages and disadvantages to growing weed in a satellite orbiting earth? This could also be applied and/or adapted from theories of growing food in space. The roots could be contained in aeroponic chambers, no gravity for the plant to fight against, immensely more sunlight being closer to it with nothing to filter it... Any ideas? ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | NASA has been experimenting with aero for years. I wonder if the unfiltered radiation from the sun will make a difference. One would think the sunlight would need to be close to the same as it is on earth. It is interesting to ponder.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I imagine if you filter out what sunlight you don't need, you'll have ample of what you do need. Strains could be chosen or adapted for this, and without gravity its possible that they could just grow really tall without having to support their huge buds by their stems.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm wondering whether you really could use sunlight to grow plants in outerspace... what would the "daylight" period in the space craft? Would you have to have a specially designed grow room... I Googled such things and found this article which was fun to read: http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/F...organFood.html
