Whatwould happen if I grafted a branch, from a male plant, that showed no sexual charcteristics. Would the branch grow male, female or hermie. I'm thinking hermie, what about you?

I have no idea why everyone around here thinks that cannibis takes grafts well. I have never tried due to the fact that the stems are very vascular and I doubt that they would take well to grafting. Anyway what would be the point of grafting a male branch to a female plant?

"Because it is there." — George Mallory (1886-1924), answer to the question 'Why do you want to climb Mt. Everest ?'

Of course, George Mallory never made it back alive. .but his words still leave a mark. I want to try out all this crazy stuff just to see it work...

Grafted branches usually keep to themselves...I think it would turn out male.

Also, the branches arent great at grafting but they work ok...

Cannabis actually gafts well if you use common techniques. Wrapping the graft like an Air-Layer helps as well.

A branch from a male plant would give you one male branch on the plant and thus the possibility for natural selective beeding.

Good idea. Let us know how it goes.

Just use some giberellic acid if you want a freak hermaphrodite plant. Enough said.

It will make the FEMALE plants BRANCH form male flowers, with female chromasomes. Meaning it the male ( female chromasomed ). flowers will pollinate the same plants female buds, as a hermie would; but the difference is it produces 100% female seeds.

What is grafting??? How do you tell a Male plant from a female plant anyways? I thought you had to wait till the buds start producing.

Yes, you do have to wait until the buds show, but I was thinking about taking a male branch that didn't have any pollen sacks on it and grafting it onto male which I have since tried and got some really great sense seeds which I planted and the sprouts are almost a foot tall.

Thank you all for your responses. They were interesting and helpful
