![]() | Just a passing question to all you botanists out there...has anyone ever tried to cross-breed an MJ plant with a perennial? Something that would come back & flower each year I think (and I'm sure YOU would too! )would be hella cool! ![]() I've heard about the TOMAHIGK (or however it's spelled) but I'm not too sure what that is yet, either. | While this sounds like a great idea, it is one that is impossible to carry out. In nature, all organisms are identified by their DNA. If one organism tries to mate with a different oranism then the copulation will not work. Different numbers of chromosomes, etc. If I remember correctly, marijuana is what you would call perennial. If you don't kill a plnt when you harvest it then it should grow back seasonally just like any other plant. Someone else here with more experience in growing marijuana outdoors may be able to address this question, as I have never grown any marijuana except a seed which got to about 2 days old, then I fertilized it . (doh!) Think about a monkey and a human having sex...would that produce a more hairy, athletic creature? No.

![]() | Nope. I know that MJ is an annual. It sprouts, it grows, it attempts to pollinate (growing seeds) then dies. This info is all over. It's only hope is to produce offspring in the form of seeds for the next generation. It will not survive the cold winter months - damn but wouldn't that be excellent if they did? Imagine a White Widow plant the size of that evergreen you planted 5 Christmas' ago? ![]() I do tend to agree with the Monkey/Human analogy, however. Different genes, chromosomes, etc. But what is all this TOMAHIGK talk all about? Stay Green! ![]() E.C.

| I know that one can re-vegitate a plant after flowering, But.... How long can one keep their plants in a flowering stage if they are growing indoors? I know that the buds are ripe when the pistils start to brown, but couldn't one just harvest these and keep their plants on a 12/12 with blooming nutrients and continue to harvest new buds? boo | ||

![]() | I think I can answer this one, boo... Personally, I've never tried it (yet) but hey, once they think that winter's coming, I think they just flower for a given time - depending on the strain IMHO. Perpetual bud sounds like a killer idea, but I think that's out of the question. They will croak after a certain inbred amount of flower time. At least, that's what I understand. | To my knowledge, as a plant enters the flowering state it begins to die. It is basically the end of its life cycle. Although you can possibly regenerate (resume vegetative) and continue its life, it produces less potent bud and a smaller harvest. People usually turn to clones. If you try to 'continue' the flowering state infinitely it would be futile, as the plant would simply die as part of its life cycle. Regards, White Vampire\Rem

![]() | Clonning isn't quick enough for you people? Try a two room set up (or three). When you want a faster car you don't try to make it nuclear powered. Not that it wouldn't be a incredible if you could but my schooling teaches me to look for the easies solutions to problems. I hope I'm not going against the intentions of this forum but this is how I see it

![]() | the origin of TOMAHIGK (or however it's spelled) ======================================== -=cut=- Homer: If only there was some magic potion that would make those crops grow. [brightens] Wait a minute. [gets up and cranks the handle on the phone. At the power plant, Lenny answers] Lenny: Plutonium? Gee, Homer, isn't that kind of risky? [pause] Yeah, I guess you're right. It's not. -=cut=- %Homer dreams about the types % of ketchup his tomatoes will become. % % Bart eats one, and promptly spits it out. Bart: Bleh! Tastes like cigarette butts. Marge: [takes the half-eaten "tomato"] That's odd. The outside looks like a tomato, but the inside is brown. Lisa: Maybe the tomato seeds crossbred with the tobacco seeds. Homer: Oh, great, I've got a field full of mutants. Bart: Gimmie. I want more. [grabs back the tomato and eats it] Lisa: I thought you said it tasted terrible. Bart: It does. [grinds out the remains of the first tomato] But it's smooth and mild. [grabs another] And refreshingly addictive. Homer: Addictive, eh? % Soon, Homer has set up a roadside vegetable stand, complete with a % sign that reads, "ToMacco." Lisa: Tomacco? That's pretty clever, Dad. I mean, for a product that's evil and deadly. Homer: Aw, thanks honey. Marge: Well, I'm not crazy about the plutonium or nicotine, but it is very nice to see Bart eating his vegetables. [cut to a shot of Bart eating a bushel basket of tomacco] -=cut=- from: http://www.snpp.com/episodes/AABF19
