I used a 1/2 gal filled 1/2 with water and a highly active yeast that was in my mom's freezer and about 3/4 - 1 cup of sugar...shook it and set it in with my plants that are 19 days old and lights on 24/7.... Is this gonna work? Holes are poked in the cap of course.

sounds like it will work, make sure you have it OVER the plants. it's kind of pointless though, because you have to have HIGH light levels for it to make any difference.

Unhappy Oh that sucks....

I I thought it was just more necessary instead of beneficial if you had more lighting. I've got a fluorex putting out 6825 lumens and a 4ft fixture with two 40 watt full spectrum sun bulbs standing vertically next to the 3 plants that put out 2250 lumens each I know it may not be as impressive as a lot of peoples setup but then again....I wasn't trying to make it that way...nor do I really have the funds. I've got the plants about 2 in. from the fluorex and I've got the co2 spewing milk jug sitting on top of the light. A small fan is circulating the air. Are you saying that providing them with a larger than normal amount of co2 will not benefit them at all? I mean it's cheap and simple so....

I'll keep it in there and I'll just kinda check back in to say if it makes any difference. There was one guide I read or maybe it was a thread or maybe both but it said to put a trash bag over it overnight, this may have been outside to, but put something producing larger amounts of co2. Then take it off when it's scheduled to recieve its daylight. Did I spell recieve right or is it receive?...

look. no matter how bad the lighting. as long as u got enuf for growth etc. co2 will make a big differece. its the main limiting factor in the enviroment that is hard to change. i have experimented with yeast. mine always died and stopped producing after a few days. guess u should put in fruit or something. i hear seltzer. co2 water is very good when sprayed on leaves as long as not too hot, but i cannot find any. any ideas anyone?

i just added one of those co2 jugs to my set up the other day too. i'm not sure if it'll make a difference or not, but it couldn't hurt, right? i figure that if it adds even a tiny bit of co2 to my grow area, then that's a tiny bit more co2 my plants have available to them than they had before. also, don't worry about your light setup... all i've got is one of those fluorex's, a 70w hps and a 23w compact floro and i'm trying to veg 5 plants.

with the 1/2 gal. jug I had to put in new yeast, water, and sugar cuz it does have to be repl'd every few days or so. I'm in full agreement with you bongo.....it can only help right? I was thinking of adding one of those 2700 lumen compact fluoros that are soft white to get more in the red spectrum. I figure it'll do just fine with what I've got now from what I've gathered but once again it's something that'll only help right? My babies are doing real well except for the one that's considerably smaller than the others although it's on about the same set of leaves. It's getting bigger but it looked dwarf like. I could have sworn these are all from the same batch. Bag seed but from some very nice stinky pungent buds....which I can only assume means it'll be some stinky flowering budz.
