![]() ![]() | Will, Ive never seen one on this site or any other. Hell, Im the only one that Ive come across that says theyve even done it before. I have a thread in Journals called "Supercropping start to finish". Im just past germination time, so in the next month I will have detailed pics of that procedure and most of the others involved with the techinque (that Im familiar with) Smokin

Also, how thick of twine do you use to tie? the first thing I worried about was thick string blockin off even a lill bit of light to any part of the plant, so what I use is thread. Its about impossible to use again, and must be redone all the way when needed, but when I look at them I cant see the thread sometimes, and im sure twine would block out some light.

![]() ![]() | Regardless of the technique you use to get axial growth, branches are required to be tied down to keep the bud tops even. First, to get the growth from the branches, you either tie the top of the plant to the base for a week or you top it. The difference is tieing it to the base keeps the main grow tip. Wont matter, after a week of being tied down, it will act like all the other branches and not have the bulk of new growth directed to it. Growth will be distributed more or less evenly among all branches. NOW you begin tieing the branches that result (axial growth) horizontally. The faster growers get tied further down so eventually they form a "L" shape The twine I use is a WalMart special 10,000 foot roll. Dont know the size, I would guess around 12 guage, if you know wiring sizes. Dont worry about twine blocking light, you have far more important thing to think about. Check out my thread in Journals called "clones taken seven weeks into flower" and you will see all the twine is below the bud growth. Thread is bad to use cuz if you dont find it, it will act like a belt never taken off the waist of a fat man. It gets tighter and tighter, pinching off the stem. Dont worry about string blocking light, thats just sillyness later Smokin

![]() | You may be right that the thread is too tight, Ill have to switch soon then, thanx a bunch. I dont tie my tip down to the bottom, I try to make sure any part cept mabey the first couple inches of the stem get right up in the light, so all I do is bend and tie the stem so it grows horizontally. I really didnt wanna cut the tips on this crop assuming that all that would do is make way for light to shine on the lower levels while the top is healing and splitting. I suppose if the lower ( they arent really "lower" in my method) branches comming out are going slow I could tie the tip down to see if that slows top growth so the rest can match it, but the way I do it makes all the other branches about the same and as the plant grows longer it just creates more branches that eventually match the height of the others. I listen to everything you say smokin , cause you said you get ounceS <-- thats a plural, every 2-3 weeks. SO other than my own ideas of how I can improve on what Ive learned here, I think for now Ill take all advice I see from you. Whats a few of the best strains you have smoked ?

![]() | Hey smokin the twine worked, but now they are about 2 and 1/2 weeks into flowering, and flowering allright I suppose, they look greenish clearish yellow and the new leaves appearing with the buds are stiff, the flowers look very gooey in some spots too. But anyways, I cant use twine on anything too high up now cause Ill damage the flowers, and bending to shape it is damaging cause if I grip the tops ill crush the flowers . Late in veg they started to produce very short nodal spacing and bushed out a bit. Anyways, what should I do? If I can continue tying and bending Ill make most of these stems commin off the main stem produce a nice bud each.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | HMM!! just read this entire post! i agree that damaging the plant does help growth.. last crop i had, one of my plants i had bent the main stem completly over by accident about 2 inches from the base. it was just bent, like a kink in a garden hose, so with hope, i propped the whole plant back up with some large toothpics. within a couple weeks the plant had recoverd, and within a couple weeks after that, the main stem was over twice as thick as my other plants. so ya, it works, but i probably shouldnt have bent it that much. ALSO, now you guys have gotten me confused about where to top my plants!! i always thougth topping should be done at the second node.. but after reading this it seems maybe topping should be done a little later, like at the 4th or 5fth node so that the nodes below can produce stems also. any thoughts??

...4-6 nodes. My grow with the RS is going to be topped with as many as ten nodes. Im planning on trimming off the slower growing branches after the top to get me down to 10 to 12 branches with colas later Smokin

why not just twist the main stem to encourage a sturdy base, and then top 90% a week later so you get 8-10 tops. sounds like the easiest, most efficient, and most yeilding way. all the tops will then be equal in length and sturdy. I have read every word of this 6 page post, and this sounds like the best of both worlds. what do you all think?
