![]() | Hi all, I have a buddy (that should be joining us shortly) and he was talk'n about "super cropping". I guess he heard of it somewhere....I'm not sure how/if it works and was wondering if someone here know's what it is or has ever heard of it before. As far as I know about it so far here is how it works..... I persume you grab a mature plant by the stalk and other nods and squeeze them between your fingers during vegg growth. You squeeze enough to crush the stem, but not to break it off or make it week enough to fall over. The plant then regenerates more limbs where you did the pintch....? You would then end up with more buding areas and a larger yeld. Hence a, super crop. I'm really not sure if this is the way he said, but it's along the lines. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Or should I just retreat back under my rock and smoke another....??? ![]() Hay buddy! Where are ya? Can you explain a lil better then that?.....C'mon don't be shy..... ![]() anyhoo that's all... mr g ![]()

![]() | Hey Mr Green ;~} Hope that rock isn't too heavy... From my knowledge(and experience) you have come fairly close to acurately describing the process...the end result is similiar to weight lifting, you tear the fibres in order to build more, bigger new ones. The stem will increase in girth where the treatments take place allowing for the transfer of more food and water and therefore bigger, fuller buds!!! I'd have to disagree on the 'more budding sites' comment however, as there are no MORE sites just ones more suited to growing BIGGER BUDS!!! The treatments take place during veg and up to bud set(approx 2-3 weeks into flowering). You'll definately notice the difference in stem size(and BUD size), and you may also notice it adds a few days to the flowering time of your strain(time to heal from the treatments) but I definately would recommend it as a way to boost production without any major changes to your setup!! Good luck, be gentle and patient and pay attention to your girlies, they'll let you know if they've had enuff!!! Cheers ;~} Herby

![]() | I read a HT article about this method. The basic Idea is to grow fewer larger plants in your grow space. By pinching the tip you create a plant with more leads, 6 or more in the article. I think plenty of root space is a must for this method because total grow time will be increased. Instead of pinching you could probably just bend the plants a lot if you know what your doing and not have to sacrifice the main lead but still get similar results. The article gave very explicit example but with soil so I didn't pay much attention but it did recommend highly the use of superthrive and sea weed extract 'in every drop of water you feed them'. I think the whole bigger bud thing is due to more production at terminal leads(does this mean something to anybody?) where the appearence of the flower clusters is that of one larger bud instead of many smaller bud sites lower on the main stem however a lot depends on the strain doesn't it. Also I think quite a few people on this board use this method they just don't call it supercropping.

![]() ![]() | I think supercropping begins with tieing the tip of a foot tall or so plant to the the base of the plant. I usually tie it mine about 8 inches and after a week the plant focuses its growth at the nodes that are already in place. This creates many growing tips instead of just one. It also keeps the height of the plant limited. I spend about 10 minutes each watering re-tieing branches and I get a an area that looks just like a flowering SCroG setup. All colas within a few inches in height of each other. My experience shows that its OK if the stem breaks when bending, cause it comes back bigger and stronger, like a knot in the wood. The recent HT article describes the fine tuning of supercropping. In fact, if you try the twisting of the stemb before tieing your plants, it seems less likely to break. Ill try it next time my clones are ready and report back.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | HERE is an old thread on that ![]() HERE is the issue that had that article I have this at home ![]() Not much info sorry .... But it is a proven technique used by veg gardeners. I have seen this discussed on regular garden boards and know for a fact that it is used to help production in the veggies especially tomatoes. I know some people may scoff at new ideas that are displayed in High Times but they put out some good info now and again. I personally have seen NYPD post at ADPC and do know it is a real entity and not some made up person LB

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | From what I have seen , there are several methods that produce the effects that are called "Supercropping". ![]() Depending on the setup of the grow in session, the genteics of the plant in question, and the patience and skill of the grower in question, increased yeilds and even potency can be seen from all of the above described methods.
