![]() | I have heard these are produced by hermies.. I am a long time grower with a 3 pot hydro system. I thought Feminisized Seeds would be a great time and money saver. Do they really work? And how well? Thanks, OverGrow the Po-Po! Stoned Drew

![]() | the pollen is from hermies. They are alright, they aren't always female, but they have a higher female:male ratio. They work well, with high %'s of females, however they are generally less stable strains and prone to turn hermie on you.

![]() | incoorperating hermaphrodite genetics into any marijuana breeding results in an unstable strain. you ruin the fame behind the strain pretty much.. it's a sacrifice.. do i want PURE genetics that i KNOW will give me a pure male/female, or do i want a female that will possibly produce a few male nugs (hermie) that can possibly be overlooked and potentially seed my whole crop and ruin what i've worked for? what if you wanted to breed the female seeds further to make another cross? You'd have to incorporate the hermaphrodite gene into the offspring. Is it all worth it for a supposedly all female crop? cloning is the way to go. imho: hermaphroditism is a disease. take it for what it's worth. a. skunk

![]() | hey there HG. AS is right, although it really isn't a gene. Otherwise it is true, it will make them have a tendency for hermie, more so than a male pollinated seed. It is part of a scheme to ensure a pollen source ina the event that in anture, a population has all females, and therefore wouldn't be able to reproduce. All the plants have all the genes for both male and female.

I guess I will take my chances with the Standard versions of the feminized strains that dutch passion is selling. I really don't want to have to deal with damn seeds or hermies for that matter. The thing is.... With feminized seeds you are guaranteed bud. Without you could have a full crop of males. I am sure this is not likely.. I am growing outdoors this year.... and I would like to have a good 10 plants at harvest time >females ofcourse< I am only going to have 20 pots or less with a few different strains in them... I am praying that I do have a crop of atleast 10 out of the 20 to be female... Just a little worried.. and actually don't know what the hell im going to purchase yet.... well sorry for rambling on :-) Peace Cc

![]() | Start them a little early, and clone them for all females. Otherwise, if you have the feminised seeds, even though you may have some male flowers, you will have less male plants than with normal seeds, so you still have better odds than with non-feminized seeds. As far as seeds go too, I don't know about anyone else, but I only trust the claims made by certain companies. (Sensi, Emery) There is no regulation, so strains ans such bought from other companies aren't the same, they are variants, and not the real deal product.
