I tool 3 cups of distiled watter and attded a half of a cup of selser water w/o sodium added in it... and then put one cap full of 20-20-20 grow start liquid stuff. i germinated my seed with it and i had about 2" tap roots in about 3 days. after that i planted them and not they are about 4" out of the soil, with an amazing growth rate of about 3/4" to 1" a day. lights are on 24/7 and they are lookin great. someone try out that mixture and get back to me and tell me how they are doin... i am pretty sure that thius mixture can be use at any point of growth and it will work great. I dont think the roots need the CO2, they like O2. The gas would come to the surface for the leaves but seltzer water has very little CO2 in it...CO2 is soluable into water at a rate of something like 1 ml per 100 ml of water. If you really want CO2 for your plants search for posts under my name, I have participated in a very informative post on CO2 production. Also, in my search for CO2 sources, I found that people who carbonate water for their aquatic plants have discovered that CO2 affects your water PH. Something like if the water has a pH of 8 with the CO2 in it, after the CO2 is gone it will drop to 7, so watch out for that. ![]()
