![]() | Can you fill a pot up with growrocks and line the inside with a small rope at different levels so the roots get water and nutes? Is this a reasonable idea, just sit the plant and pot in some kind of resevior out of the water with the rope reaching the water. Has anyone tried this with soil? Could it work in soil? Does anyone have a better plan for a wick system? I'm looking for all kinds of ideas, please help me figure out which way I'm gonna do this. Thanks for yur support The "FREAK" ![]()

I am not sure about wicking with grow rocks, as I don't think there would be complete saturation. You can definitely do it with soil. Although, I would just set the pot with grow rocks over a resevoir, and use a submersible water pump to pump water into the top of the pot for a hour on/hour off, etc. ![]()

![]() ![]() | Your on the right track. Use a couple inches of perlite alone in the bottom of your planter and dont let the water level get above the perlite level. This way your soil is never in water and roots can still uptake. At least, thats the theory I read somewhere. Ill be trying it when I go out of town for 11 days in March. Smokin
