Anyone ever tried harvesting their plants then grafting new clones to the old root systems so as to grow the plant without the roots having to take time to form?

Well that might not be such a good idea chance's are that by the time the root system from the original plant recovers from the shock of being whacked your best time for the root development in your clone has pasted. root your clone useing the normal rooting methods, this will only improve the clones ability to build up the proper harmones mainly the auxins with are critical to new growth.

![]() | what about harvesting half ot the plant, grafting that half with clones, then harvesting the second half later, like a staggered harvest but on each plant. THis would still save a lot of rooting time and pose less stress on the plants.

If all your trying to accomplish is trying to save yourself the veg time till the harvest, why dont you just use the Re-Green Method. carefully remove all the buds off the plant with a precision pair of scisors trying to leave all the main stalks, shade leaves. this will leave you with a bunch of yummy popcorn buds and you still have the majority of the plant intact.....Now what i do is flush either your soil or hydro system and get rid of all the flowering ferts and built up salts, make sure that most of the clean freash water has drained out of your meduim. Flush till the water is almost clear that should have gotten out alll the nasty's. now give it dark for 24 hrs. then start back on vegative cycle, i like to wait atleast a week or two depending on the ridgidity and color of the leaves (you'll know when its bouncing back your leaves wont look wilted or curled some curl due to the shock and the rich color will come back) now start back up with your vegative ferts while retaining your original veg lights cycle. now you have Re-Greened the plant and the Auxins are starting to build up/ which will start producing new growth and your off to the mass'es. just remember that not all strains take likely to this each strain has its own quarkes. This whole process takes about three solid weeks to get going but doing this more than three times on a sigle plant is not good they need to follow thier natural course for quality, and the Re-Greening method takes it's toll on the plant as well it shocks it and it puts you playing heart surgeon on the plant.

![]() | i saw the graft and thats kind of what started this train of thought. I've though about re-greening (didn't know there was an actual term or method) it sounds interesting, i'm thinking of doing like a half plant harvest then continue flower untill that side builds back up then harvest the otherside. i want to try it on one plant and i think i'll try the grafting on another.

Here's a useful link. I'm re-greening two that I've harvested already. Both are still growing new sprouts. I cut them like in the article's pics. Both are cut about four inches tall. http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/1535.html Much peace,

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't think there'd be enough interest, Fillabong. The general wisdom I've heard is that re-vegging reduces yield on the second crop, and that in general, you're better off nabbing a clone for the second crop than revegging. I'm actually suprised anyone's trying it here on the board- I'll have to go check out the thread linked... Now grafting, that's a different ball of wax. I've considered creating a multi-strain mother plant so I can have different types of MJ on hand without increasing my plant count- tho I'd have to keep track of which branches are which strain... ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Phread, there are others on here (spunkybuds for one) that are in the process of revegging. According to spunky, the plant is much bushier then its first cycle and growing pretty good. Hes only in veg with it right now, but bushier plants usually make for a better yield.
