Colchicine is widely utilized in the botanical world, so you would think that there would be another way of getting it.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
You can mix up a batch using the 'Autum Crocus', a tuilip type of plant, I believe.

I have no clue how you could ensure strength of the solution though.

Well I do have a trait to report.

The pictured plant is from seed set 'a' (indica). It has three nodes at each branching. It is the only plant to display this.

This does NOT count as a poly trait as per the discussion a few posts back.

Also the dad I used for pollen had 4 nodes per branching.

Also this plant is the first to show alternate branching (last pic). I figure the sativas will be last.

I am thinking of taking a clone from each of these plants prior to flowering so I can them as moms/dads for the future.

Well I labeled the plants by number within each seed set.

Today's featured plant is 'A-2' (also representative of 'A-3')

I rarely grow from seed so I don't know how normal this is, but these plants have some 'larger than normal' rooting going on. (at least when compared to all other subjects) It is an Indica, has very thick stem and very nobby/knuckley roots.

I suppose that roots could be effected by colchicine treatment just as any other part of the plant could.

This could also be the result of manipulation of the 'just germed' seedling due to watering in hempy cups.

note to self: compare root systems of subject plants when re-potting

Indica set 'A'
permalink

Here are set 'A' 1-4 in order.

stats
Ht: 10.", 10, 9.5, 9.0
#nodes: 7, 7, 8-9, 7(19 total branches due to 3 branches per node)
leaf blades: 7-9, 7-9, 7, 7
lat branching: -, -, +, +

notes
#3 is very similar to #4 with the exception of 3 per node on #4.

#4 is a keeper (I will clone prior to flowering) The node spacing is tight and the branching is good

This set has the broadest leaves of all the sets.
