Two tieing techniques, compared. (Its not Delta vs. Smokin) )
permalink

Well the opportunity presents itself, and I just couldnt pass it up.

I have two clones that are almost identical in height and age, taken from the same mother in veg growth, and an 11 day vacation ahead of me.

Today is the first full watering of them into the flowering containers, so there shouldnt be any worry about the containers drying out.

Here is the before shot

The LST plant
permalink

As expected, overall nodal growth is very even up and down the length of the stem, but are still very short. One fan leaf is MUCH bigger than any leaves on the inverted plant, but the inverted plant has three very strong looking growtips almos 6" long and as many others as the LST plant

Heres a comparison of the two plants. You can see size is relatively the same for both ways of forcing axial growth

The nodal growth from LST

nice and even, longest existing branches at the bottom are the best developed, decreasing in length the closer to the top you get. Strong axial growth seems to come on much slower with LST, but provides you with more usable branching. This will certainly ease the effort put into tieing, since there will such a large difference between growth on the inverted compared to LST

The inverted plant

My hand is where the just released former cola of this plant is. It has completely resumed its vertical stance, tho is now simply just another branch as the more dominant branching is obvious all around it.

Stem thickness is not as big on this one

Look at how developed that one bottom branch is compared to the first pics of the plants in this thread of a normal horizontally growing plant and you can see how the plant seems to switch immediatly to axial growth when the plant is inverted. At least thats the conclusion Im drawing from observing one plant

Smokin
