3 days i believe? sumthin like that. it doesnt matter if its from seed or clone. this one however happens to be from clone

this pick here was taken like 3 seconds after i tied it, and for the next two days i simply tightened it a little more.

yo delta...so you saiud you grow under one 600HPS, right...
and you can get around one elbow from one plant...

but you also said that you have gotten like 5 lbs from 7 plants...thats NUTS..is this also just from that one 600hps??
that sounds a bit .... impossible??

you tell me..
but regardless, looks nice man...

so i just spent a few hours last night tying down all kinda of growth on my 17 plants...they are in a 6x3 foot space, and under a 1000MH on a mover right now...they are roughly 1.5 feet untied, and will be switching to hps and 12/12 prob this weekend...
my question is, being that i tied them down last night, can i just leave them tied like this through flowering...
i think i read that you stated take the string poff at some point into flowering...
can you explain when, and why...

keep goin my man...

Roughly, yes, depending on the strain and how long it stays in preflower. Placement in the canopy can matter, too.

Right, don't believe the hype. But seriously, it's not impossible and I said AROUND (always over 4, and I'm trying for 8) 5 lbs average (for now) in a 7x7 partition. That's with either 2 600s or 2 400s filling the space. Or a single KW. It's really the lumens that matter. I maintain 7.5-11k on the tops regardless of the wattage of the lamp. Again, it's all about how far from the tops they are and how light tight the partition is ... efficiency. That's why I prefer multiple smaller lamps to the big ones. Not only are they more cost efficient to run, but it's easier to spread the light out with multiple lamps.

Training alone is not going to achieve these numbers, though. Optimal plant health has a great deal to do with it, too. Plus, other factors. Oh, and its grown in a coarse medium with ~35% soil, not pure hydro. Myco's and such aren't fairing as well (for me) in water cultures ...

Yes, I remove the anchors for the last few weeks of flower. By this time, the plants have adapted to their new form and shouldn't revert back. If they start too, it's still stretching and it could actually be a variety of factors causing this. Tie it back down and evaluate the overall health of the plant.

Also, I will release pressure or the anchors completely (during preflower and the stretch) to let certain branches catch up with others. I think I described this OK earlier. MMV's most recent pics are a better example of the younger training methods. Ultimately, I do this is to maintain an even canopy. And, practice makes perfect.

Oh, and 17 plants for a 6x3 space will probably be too many ...

and they all look GREAT..they have all bent upwards already, and are all reachin for the sky...
but...
this one plant...she was tied and was bending a good amount from the string..well, you know how if you slowly bend a straw, and it will bend, until..wack..it kinda snaps, and maks a 90º bend, and almost a crase ...well, thats what one of them did...

whats the deal wth this??
here are some pics..not of that particular benmd...but of my plants, and of one tied down...

That happens some times. What I do, when I bend too far and the branch crushes, is get a drinking straw and cut it to fit the broken part. Slit down the middle and put it on the branch like a splint. Don't try anchoring that branch for about 2 weeks until it heals. On a postivie note, you will be able to see the effects of 'pinching' the stem ... basically the same thing. When it heals, it will grow a knot in place of the crushed part of the stem.

Or, you can use some black tape or something to splint it ... whatever you do to take the weight off the wound.

What's a bag? Haven't seen one of those in years!

Some Dutch.

Some personal crosses and aquisitions from fellow growers.

I usually maintain mothers of 5 or 6 sets of genes. But, each flower cycle is usually dedicated to a particular strain. Too much work (for me) to grow multiple different strains at the same time. Experimentation is easier and it wouldn't be nearly as automated ...

Flower, archive, switch, flower, archive, switch ... that's me.

Mmmm, the archives!
