![]() | The real reason for SOG is that you want to grow more plants have more tops correct? i would extand the length of life of the plants and making them so short and bushy that you wont need a net or screen"iknowitisusedforbackingtheplantsfromgrowingtotallorwhatever" just a good rectangular or squared, Deep pot to high amount of plants. I would use a 2'W x 3'L x 6"deep Box. have a plant a ratio of 5 x 6 or 7. growing 30 or 35 plants at a time. Pruning the ones on the outside at a young age working and pruning your way into the center of the box, so that overtime you have a 3-d Pyramid like plantShape.. prune early outter layer, 2-3 weeks later prune other inner surrounding layer, another 2-3 weeks later prune the last center layer. Then from there do same process but every week or two or whenever u feel its time and shoots are getting taller, Making the Bushiest_Mutha_****in_Grow_Box_that_u_ever_seen! ![]() ![]() ![]() I just thaught this out right now and will definetly an adventure of mine in the not so distant future as i am sitting here toking a phatty and meditating on the net hehe )*&@^please make comments if u have any Peace & Smoke Out yall!..

![]() | hmmm... I always thought that SOG was a method for concentrating on the top colas of a bunch of short plants, hence it would be like a 'sea of green' but underneath the top canopy would be almost bare. Are you growing from seed or clone? If seed, you will have a big mess on your hands trying to untangle males from females, it they are all in one box. Better to have one container per plant. If clone, No worries about that....but the roots will get all tangled up wtih the other plants and some plants might have diff requirements. Your plan sounds interesting. Try it out. Experimentation is great. Keep us posted when you do. to get to the Stairway to Heaven take Route 311 to Exit 420 cy ![]()

![]() | i guess i see your point with the Males and Females, and Seeds or clones. I guess my method would be easier for clones.(so youll know what all these plants are going to be once grown to appropriate maturity...) which leads me to growing (my method) with seeds... as your plants grow and get bigger they Crowd each other... when u use seeds dpending on your batch and Odds... u can have from 40 to 70 percent Pure females,, the rest of the %'s beeing males and "Herms" or hermaphrodytes, which is plenty smokeable... only thing here which aint is the male of course. Hermaphrodytes is the most grown Grass out there, for selling.. because they dont take as long a Pure female to mature and flower. Sad but True. Peace & Smoke Out

And "untangling males from females as u say wont be a problem as u can just snip off MALE parts early in the flowering.. leaving the root carcass behind for other plants to feed off on. only thing here which aint smokeable is the male of course. ![]() ![]() | Supercrop your plant by tieing the top to the base of the plant anytime after it has hit 5 nodes. Each node in place will grow out two stems that will become colas. Your basically looking to turn what is normally horizontal growth into vertical and visa-versa. Your main stem is forced to grow horizontal so the nodes will each grow vertical mainstems. Am I making sinse here? Ill keep going anyway. After a week, untie your plant and it will have naturally taken its focus away from growing its top to growing its branches. You can continue to grow out your plants top or not. I like to cut it off. Fell free to ask for more info if interested. Smokin

![]() | Thats cool about the tying the top to the Pot. That little strategy is quite intriguing as it will be my next try next grow. after 5 nodes u say? why 5 nodes? so the leafs come out with 7 sides? 1stNode=1sideleaf ~ 2ndNode=3sideLeaf ~ 3rdNode=3sideleaf ~ 4thNode=5sideleaf ~ 5thNode=5or7or9 side leafs?? something like that? anyhow... How do you really tie a top? with string? with a clip? i dunno im thinking... how do u do it? P.s. believe it or not i grew this pure female that had 3-4-5-7- and 8 sided leafs on it.. and where the older fan leaves'stem were... Had 1 sometimes 2 lil leafs poking out . which was real strange.. cuz it wasnt a "Shoot" or a Top to grow out u know? it was the end of Fan Leaves Stem, i still think its weird till this day lol Peace Out

![]() ![]() | >>THIS IS A GOOD THREAD...I'M LEARNING ALOT FROM YOU GUYS ..THANX BUT CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE BENDING OF THE TOP...HOW LONG? HOW FAR DOWN? WHAT HAPPENS? WHAT ARE THE RESULTS? ECT.... << Hey XcG, glad to hear your interested. I could talk all night on this subject. The tieing of the plant encourages growth from the nodes by taking the plants focus away from growing its top. Its worked very well for me the last 5 harvests or so. But recently Ive come to believe that simply topping your plant early and tieing the resulting branches down is as effective and shocks the plant less. Topping at the fifth node pretty much leaves 10 branches to work with. I use a 3 gallon plastic potter with screws inserted around the rim. The goal is to tie the branches down in sucha way as all are growing evenly, i.e. smaller branches stay in themidle and longer ones get tied to the outside. Sometimes long ones have to wrap around the perimeter of the planter and can have 3-4 ties on just one branch. Ive started topping these ones as soon as theyre identified. You dont want the branches to extend much over the edge, cause the goal is to squeeze as many planters into a space as possible. Done right your grow will look like a SCRoG set-up with no screen and removable, individual plants Tie a loose single knot around the base of the branch and pull down in the direction you want to go, tieing it down when the plant is more or less horizontal. The top will re-orient itself to the light in hours. Make sure all your knots are loose and tie as low as possible. Youll have to do this throughout the plants life to keep all the colas the same height. Takes about 5 minutes per plant when watering. Remember not to wait more than three weeks after topping to flower. Any longer and the branches could get too long. Stretch rule applys to branches also: allow for them to triple in length and it wont get too big on you. Well, West Wing time.... Smokin
