![]() ![]() | Well here they are... My first nugs! These came from my smallest plant (12" at maturity). All of my other plants are doing much better and will yeild significantly more. This one finished up really early at like 4 weeks into flowering. It kinda got dwarfed by the other plants early on and as a result was deprived of light by the bigger plants fan leaves. Regardless, I'm proud! ![]() Thank you to everyone at HC.com! Forever indebted, Born420

I topped them by cutting the main stem between the 2nd and 3rd nodes when they were just beginning to produce their 4th node. It caused the 1st and 2nd nodes to branch out making the plant have 4 main stems as opposed to 1. If I had to do it again, I would cut off 2 of those 4 about three weeks later to leave the best two main stems. This is only my first grow, but I found that under my conditions, the plants that naturally only produced 2 stems as opposed to 4, did better. Lighting: Plants, like humans, have hormones. There are certain ones in plants that are photoreactive, that is they react to light. In order to induce flowering (the creation of nugs) in MJ, you must shift your light phase from whatever variation you had while vegging (18/6, 20/4, 24/0, etc.) to 12/12 to cause the hormones to tell the plant to start making flowers. In short your light cycle should have two parts: 1) 20/4 (or some variation) for the first 4-6 weeks or until the plant is showing signs of maturity such as developing sex traits or the branches are no longer symetrical (alternating nodes). You can keep a plant in veg mode indefinately if you want a large plant or mother plant to take clones from. 2) 12/12 for 6-9 weeks depending on the genetics of your plant, i.e. how fast they are 'expected' to mature. Regardless of genetics, you should stop the 12/12 cycle and harvest when 50% of the hairs on your nugs are turning orange/red. Some strains require an increased dark period like 10/14 but for the most part, 12/12 is the norm. I hope this helped. Peace, Born420

I thought you guys might enjoy a pic from my REAL harvest... check 'em out! Thats the same lighter from the original picture, except now... the NUGS are bigger than the lighter, as opposed to the other way around! I wish I had a digi camera... I'd show you more. This pic was just a big cola that I layed out on my scanner. All in all I got enough of these colas to completely fill up 3 hangers worth of hanging branches.... About 12-15 times what is in this scan. When it dries I'll way it out and let you know how much there is. Its about a square meter that I grew in, so it should approximate what is a reasonable sq meter yeild for a first grow. Oh, and I didn't cut the plants all the way down... I left a lot of bud sites on the plants so I can reflower them. Does anyone know if it would be advantageous to switch them back to 24/0 for a little bit and then return to 12/12 or should I just continue to let the plant flower as is. Peace, Born420

Total yeild for 8sqft and 6000lm/sqft: 5.5oz dry, almost 3/8th of a pound. Its curing now. For what its worth I left about 3/4oz on the plants in an attempt to reveg. I'm definately happy with my first grow. Oh, and thats a total of 157g, divided by a total of 475w gives me about 0.33g per watt. If you add in the 3/4oz still on the plants, I'm up to 0.37g per watt. Not too shabby, right? Peace, Born420
