Pontoon's 2nd grow
permalink

Time sure flies when yer having fun! It seems like just yesterday the Mrs. and I started talking lumens and trichomes and dove into a 1st grow. Well, the first grow gave me 5 ounces and a lot of "what not to do next time" info.
This time we're vegging and flowering all under a 430 watt Son Agro with a Sunlight Supply reflector and remote ballast. I'm still using Supersoil with no ferts until just after sexing. I find the Supersoil has plenty of ferts to veg a sea of small bushes.
OK...I saved 26 seeds from some killer indica and started them in 4' pots. They all sprouted...hoo hoo!!! When they were from 2'-4' I transplanted them into their permanent home of 1 gallon pots. They were vegged for only 29 days! And that includes the 3 days it took for them to sprout out of a 1' burial!
I started them on 12/12 about 8 days ago and their heights range from 7"-13"...with about 7,8, and nine internodes, with lots of side shoots and budding sites!
So today I went home for lunch and the Mrs. and I pulled out 6 males. 2 of the remaining 20 we're not sure of...and the rest are (drumroll please) ladies!!!!!!!! I will be watching them very closely for hermie action. I feel real lucky to get a male/female ratio that good!
I'm gonna start them on 10/60/10 soon to beef up the buds, and this time around I haven't touched a leaf on 'em. Last grow I went crazy with the fan leaves, not knowing this is a bad thing to do.
So, I'll be seeing just how well these 18 (maybe 20) short ladies fare under the 430.
As soon as I get a digi-cam I'll post up som pics.

Thanx again to everyone here,

OK...Well, I ended up with a coupla more males than expected...but the total of luscious ladies under my 430 is now 15! The tallest is about 16" with the little baby about 10". There looks like about 15-20 nice bud sites on each...and what looks REAL cool is when the bud sites change colors while growing. The leaves are a nice avocado green, and ever since the buds started to form the tips changed to an almost light, lime green! Awesome sight! I'm givin' 'em a very little dose of Schultz 10/60/10 (less than a 1/4 of a dose) every other watering. July 8th will be 2 weeks under 12/12, and I can't wait to sample some nugs. Already got ripped off some immature male flower tips!

Pics are comin' soon,

Hi CY, and anyone interested...

...well, the pics ain't comin'! I got suckered into an e-mail scam a while back. Thought I was getting a free digi-cam for giving out my e-mail address to EVERYONE on the planet! Now I'm getting an extra trillion e-mails a day, and still NO pics of my babies. Live and learn.

We're starting to hang the ladies we've toiled over the last few months. We hung some up a little early...to keep us from spending real cash. So we ended up with 15 ladies...a great pot-pourri of buddage. They're all about 2 feet tall...with one nice top bud on each and plent 'o side shoots. We've got some that smell like skunk, and some that are sweet as hell! I couldn't believe the crystals forming on this last grow! They were bag seeds from some REAL decent home-grown...I'm sure from designer seeds. The sweet ones have a real defined citrus aroma...while the skunky ones are musky and dank! And one, I swear has to be Blueberry...smells just like a fresh muffin!

All-in-all, we're probably gonna yield around 5-6 ozs for 3 months work under a 430 SA in Supersoil with modest ferts. We flowered at 29 days of veg...was concerned about it being early, no way...turned out great!! We were concerned with our 1 gallon pots...they were perfect, and we even have a 2 footer budding well in a lone 6 inch pot! Lucky, I guess! Anyway, 2nd grow...a nice success. Much better quality than first grow. Really wish I had some pics to share!

Thanx for everyones help on this one, it's Xmas in August
