This updates my post a while back about not having very stony weed after harvest. My initial samples just didn't do anything for me. However, about a week later, things are changing! I smoked some friends out last night and they got totally hammered - one hit wonder for them! For me, it is a different high than I'm use to - totally clear and up with no hazy foggy feeling. Totally great. I guess I just needed to let it get a little drier. I haven't weighed it all yet, but I had 7 females and 1 hermie and it looks like I yielded about 3/4 oz per plant. Not bad for a first try. I'm so stoked that I don't have to visit my "guy" any more - it feels so great to smoke your own.

My first grow and harvest has been a success and most of the success is due to all the great advice I got here - thanks to everyone!

...way to go man! That's a nice little poke for your first time out! My 2nd grow is just about there...about a week or 2. I had 14 ladies...13 now after pullin' one out somewhat immaturely (5 weeks). So sue me, I was Jones'n! LOL It will keep me high until the others have ripened. But the reason I started growing was to be able tell my "guy" to take a hike and sell his over-priced buds to someone else! Plus, as a 46 year old it's awfully hard to find connects when the business I'm in takes me all over the place every coupla years. Hell, I had to go get a tattoo once just to find someone who trusted me enuff to hook me up. Kinda hard thinkin' someone's a LEO when they're getting a tattoo all the way up his forearm!

Smokin' yer own buds is a GREAT feeling...keep it up,

Thanks gang - couldn't have done it without hc. The second grow is under way - some White Russian darlings and they are looking pretty good. I realize everytime I walk to my freezer that I'm set for a while with bud - what a trip! Truly amazing.

White Russian huh? I've heard only good things about that strain! Best of luck on the 2nd grow...are ya doing anything differently? Things changed a little from #1 to #2 with me. And yeah, it's great feeling to not have to wonder if yer gonna have any bud around! We're filling up those little Ziplock sandwich keepers....and they're starting to collect! I love it!!!

I my freezer every morning! For the second go around I'm doing basically the same thing, except instead of using rockwool blocks I'm using loose rockwool/lava rock mix that is really great because it comes ph ready. Also, instead of chemical ferts during veg I'm going to go strictly organic this time. The kids are already so cute at 2 weeks and 7 of my 10 seeds germinated. I sure hope they are all girls....

I bet it's nice seeing all the equipment (initial cost's) starting to be paid off everytime you don't have to go see your guy, nice knowing that what you have is purely what you made it from approved chemicals or organic fert, nice knowing you don't have to transport or be involved in the sale of something that should be growin wild all over the place, it's nice knowing you won't be subjected to prima weed one week and schwag the next or even dry spells, nice knowing that your weed will never be laced unless you want it too and that you won't become a victim of some unscroupulous dealer whom adds **** to make up for a low thc count. Or add stuff you may actually become addicted too, usually in a higher price range.I bet it's nice and exciting hobby growin and seeing positive life everyday!Bet it's nice sparkin a bowl of which it's content you know all about!

Hey - it's good to see people do read the old posts around here!

Thanks for bumping it up - it really made me stop and think. Since that first grow some 2+ years ago, I've come amazingly far in my knowledge and abilities. It's unbelievable. One of the best things actually is that now I'm just friends with my old dealer, and that's so much better, because I always felt like there was a sense that our friendship was based on weed and little more - but I'm happy to say I'm quite close to him and his wife and see them a few times a year. Even stoked him a sample that impressed him quite a bit. Anyway, since I just harvested my umpteenth grow, I found this to be quite funny.
