Wow, Japhy...beautiful. Makes me want to get out my winter parka. Really gorgeous buds. What are you inclined to grow when you do grow?

Mayan, I'm thinkin' tear out the entire floor from one of the rooms and fill it with soil and worms and gnomes and all kinds of Alice in Wonderland crap, cover the walls and ceilings with hempy buckets, and harness the power of the sun with a Little Orphan Annie Decoder.

In reference to your question, though, I'll be searching dispensaries (or craigslist, believe it or not lots of medical clone sellers for registered patients on there) for God's Gift or other GDP crosses, hmm.. I know there are lots of Purple Kush and of course Sour D clones floating around.. I really want to find some Blueberry Wreck cuttings. Maybe grab a few OG Kush? That's one strain that's very popular around here and is a very solid indica.. plus I have some reliable sources of stable quality genetics that have been providing the dispensaries with quality bud for years.

To be honest it'll really depend on what's available and how those strains fit into what I'm looking for. Mostly going to be a Indica dom garden, ideally hearty mold-resistant strains (though I know some of my choices listed here aren't), non-branching fert tolerant, predictable (so I might have to shy away from blueberry hybrids this time) essentially SOG friendly strains.

I am very stoney from this blue dream so I'm in a rambling mood..

This batch is more spicey than perfumy. More like an OG than a Purp. This is what I get on the regular.

Just starting to figure out my Super Macro settings. These are in natural window light, no flash.

Yo BC, thanks for picking up where I left off. I've been so busy trying to get everything ready for my upcoming grow in a little over a month (jeez time's flyin' by!) that I haven't taken the time out to snap some bud porn.

Good thinking in regards to natural light -- I've found that natural indirect, and sometimes direct, is the best lighting source for taking juicy nug macros.

As far as the macro itself, if it works anything like my canon powershot, basically the macro will come out crystal clear as long as the bud surface is "flat". By this I mean the more rounded the bud is, or the more it has plant matter that sticks out in odd directions, the less % of it will be focused. So the key is finding those nugs that are relatively 'even' on one side, and when you're lining up multiple nugs for the shot, try to have their surfaces all on the same plane. In other words it seems that the macro, unless taken from further away, focuses on a single flat plane.. so anything in the background and foreground is blurred. Get as much surface area on that single plane, and you'll have better macro shots.

This is just working with simple macro settings on a simple digital.. I'm sure there's fancy settings and methods out there as well.

Good morning,

I have a Powershot as well its a little A570IS and I purchase one of those cheap (at amazon.com) Opteka (did I mention cheap) 10x macro lens along with those (God I hated these when I bought for my Minolta Maxxum 5) closeup lenses +1, +2, +4, I dislike because the lens is (convex) which creates softer borders opposed to an extension tube (I think) anyway, I don't use the closeup lenses very much but, I have used the 10x macro lens with adapter (tube that fits over the lens). Lol I also purchased an Opteka 3.2x Tele lense that goes on the same adapter with macro removed.. And while I was spending $$$ on my little camera I went ahead and got Canon's underwater housing so I can keep the camera dry while out in the forest shooting nature in the rain or at the beach during storms in the winter months here on the north coast of Oregon. Alot of money for someone who doesn't dive at all. But I did have fun the other day shooting the camera with a pressure washer while in movie mode both in color & b/w.
I've had so much fun with my little Canon Powershot A570IS, its funny I bought for the macro setting to take bud shots to check for trich color while deep zooming through software.

Forgive me Japhy for being off topic a bit with this but, you brought up having a Powershot and your bud shots are freakin awesome man .. Gives me hope of getting similiar.

Have a Great day my friend and thank you for showing it is possible to get beautiful shots

so i have not figured out the best way to show pics unfortunately but here we go. every time i pick up a sack i always take out a gram or two and put it in the personal jar. so i will update the jar from time to time.

first couple are a pick from the personal jar, there is a little assortment: hash plant, sweet island skunk, (sweet island skunk x NL#5), random outdoor indica, sour diesel, and a little sour diesel hash poking its head through.

first nug shot is of the hash plant
second is the SIS x NL#5
third is some cross a buddy made he called Sprite- tastes and smells just like the soda.

more to come, having 5 wisdom teeth extracted tomorrow so might be a while before i feel like getting em up.
