I consider this a success story (only topic close), if it indeeds ends out successful.

I recently came across about 6 plants on a ditch bank. I looked around, and so no other plants that bared a resemblence to them. They had some similarities to my plants but some differences too. The way the leaves were in sets made me think it wasn't bud. I have only grown bud once, but the plants dried up and are dying right now, so not an expert yet. But as I understand, as they mature, the number of leaves grows from 3 to 5 and to 7, and 9 I think (I've heard that 9 leaves is only found on one sex of the plant, not sure which, or if this is even true). The way the new sets of leaves were coming out looked like what my plant did, but on the more mature leaves, I saw sets of 3, but about 1 inch under the set 3, were 2 leaves coming out. The leaves looked exactly like what marijuana plants do, from the edges, down to the veins in the leaves. The stems were the right size and color*i think*. Also, from pictures I have seen of female hairs, I think these plants were female. I saw some little hairs at the internodes. (Not thinking, i didn't examin all the plants closely to see if some were male and others female) Some plants were about 5 feet tall, and had internodes of 6-10 inches, whereas some of the others were 1-2 feet tall, and really bushy. This makes me wonder if they were all the same age or not. Last time I checked them was about the last week of July, and there was no buds. I will be checking them again in a few weeks, and am hoping to find buds, but am not sure when mother nature causes plants to bud. Any info on when plants start to bud outdoors, or some tips on how to better identify these plants would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Just a little preachy note about pot moralists that think plucking some wild weed by the side of the road constitutes theft. You're Wrong!
First, if you think someone was so unbelievably stupid as to plant their kush by the side of a road, you and that grower should understand one another quite well.
Second, most out door grows that occur on public land are being tended by shotgun toting assholes that deserve to lose as much as you can take and run (cuz they will shoot).

And third, we should all be growing seed (in part) and planting it outdoors where it will do well, and someone just might come along and smoke a little. That's the whole idea. Plants should not be allowed to be controlled by the government, and if they are growing everywhere, the pigs can't.

So get off yer high horse, bend down, and plant a seed outside. Plant a bunch, where they won't be immediately noticed. Hopefully they will reseed themselves for many years to come, and you will find that empty lot/field/etc. filled with goodness.

I agree with you boo... however, you make it seem as if just by planting seeds here and there, the prohibition will be over. It's gonna take a lot more then that. This [prohibition] will be a tiring uphill battle... don't forget, that field filled with goodness takes about an hour to cut down by the pigs... no mater how long the plants aren't noticed.

Yeah, but 8 fields takes about 8 hours, and a hundred, takes a hundred hours. Given how many people are growing, if a significant percentage of folks start producing and planting seed, operation overgrow will take on new meaning.

Sure, we ought to take up this crusade on many fronts, but we are growers. Therefore, let us do what we do best, at least, to win for our cause.

I am not so much interested in winning the argumnent. You can't win an argument with a liar. Pot is not illegal cuz it's a dangerous narcotic, it's illegal because of big corporate interests outweighing the needs or wants of the people in the eyes of reactionary politicians.

Any time you roll and find a seed make sure it gets outside, even if it's thrown out a window. At least then it has some chance to grow.

Daym...guess I just busted out a whole CRATE of worms with that reply...

I didn't mean that stumbling across some wild ganj and harvesting was a bad thing. Guess I just have this sticking point about theft as it has happened to me in the past. About 12 yrs ago I had some supposedly KILLER ganj swiped by some unscrupulous b*stards and I have had a burr up my arse ever since.

If it's obviously wild, Ja obviously meant for you to find it!

Stay Green!
