SOG the planet...

A look around my HPS powered Sea of Green garden. The SOG technique was pioneered in Holland back in the 1980's by the SSSC (Super Sativa Seed Club) and was published in Sinsemilla tips where it caused a revolution in indoor gardening due to High times also siezing on the story, the now infamous 12 inch Superskunk cutting on the cover of the 1982 HighTimes is a classic

. I have been growing with this method (amongst others) for around 14 to 15 years now using 8 or 9 inch cuttings at a rate off 3 or 4 per square foot and flowering them without vegging whatsoever, the clones root and they go to flower. Highly efficient, potent and productive gardening that necessitates healthy motherplants (also grown under HPS lamps) and high clone demand. My skills are constantly being tested keeping everything perfectly healthy and fast growing, my clone demand is high so I must practise clean gardening, diseased or stressed plants cannot be usd in SOG gardens I should say so this technique requires that you are able to observe, learn and apply that knowledge, this is not a technique for abstract theorists, its real world stuff and its not ultimatley high tech.

I usually flower 25 to 30 plants per table under 1200 watts of HPS, I yield around 1oz to 1.5 oz dry per plant keeping myself in a ready supply of exquisite marijuana, all homegrown

Over the next few weeks I will keep returning to my little patch of green and I will take closeups of the plants ripening and growing so people can learn the highly productive and high quality practises that I have made it my lifes work to learn and improve, I will also show you some of my current breeding projects and odds and ends that occur in my garden.

Some whiteskunk plants at around 6 weeks at the vesy front of the shot, these are roughly 16 inches in height after being set to flower at 7 inches, these are producing copious amounts of resin now they are in their final 2 or 3 weeks. Adjacent to them are some more WhiteSkunk at the beginning off the 3rd week of flowering, slightly taller at around 20 inches in height from being flowered at 9 inches.

A look at the 3 week plants now, we can see a heavily seed laiden and pregnant AK47 mother in an ajoining table too.

Node space remains tight under the purely HPS lamps and provides just enough room for the genetically determined fist like clusters the Whiteskunk produces, by the end of flowering there will be little to no space and tight, hard resinous bud.

The SOG canopy, beautiful and perfectly healthy plants swaying in the breeze. The flowering marijuana plant is such a beautful thing, the lush greens and hues of purple around the lateral and distal leaf segments in this phenptype of the whiteSkunk was what initially attracted me to it, that and the massive oily nugs of course

these are at week 4 or so, a little to much orange in this picture as I jhad the lamps running, this table has GWS,ak47, g13, Whiteskunk in it, the GWS, G and others are visible at the front of the picture

An Ortega#3 Seedbank original. Ive have dropped a trusty 250 watt HPS lamp in there for a comparison, this is a pure Indica plant that was flowered under this lamp at around 6 inches in height, little to no stretch whatsoever when using the HPS for both grow and flowering, even less when working with the Indicas such as this purebred philly

A closer look, resin formation and node space is as tight as it gets, this lady will fill out to tight and rock hard nuggets of couchlock joy, again the genetic factors and concentration of sessile glands dictates to large extent the tactile sense of the product when coupled with permissable temperature ranges. This plant is at 4.5 weeks.

Thick stalked trics from this seedbank original, a pleasure to work with and the subject of an extended (and often frustrating) breeding project I have indertaken using original Afghani landraces. This will meet a grapefruit male plant shortly...

A Grapefruit X g13 closeup, this plant has another week to go at the most, we can see the seed cracking out of the ovum in this picture. I have a table of SOG style plants laiden with seed but more details on that later

. This project is in its infancy, allof these plants are in the one room under the HPS.
