![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Now I'm the confused one. Do you want to start another thread for your journal or do you want this one moved? Is that closer to what you were asking for??? If you want this one moved, the mods are generally fairly quick at responding if you ask to have it moved?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Danger- Here's a critique, let me know if it is harsh. The best picture is the last one. The one before it would be a great picture if you cropped all the crap out of the bg. Let me show ya. From to ![]() See how it takes away all the stuff you don’t want your viewer’s eye to go to? The bright color of the pillow doesnt grab your attention anymore, nor does the fold in the comforter. It gives the photo better composition overall too. Now what’s good about the last one? Well for one it is clear. Clear is key. Without clarity, you have a crappy picture; unless you get lucky. The other nice thing about it is it has great composition. The leaves of the plant make your eyes move all around the photo, and the repeating pattern of the leaves also adds a cool effect. The puppet in the top right corner is a nice add-on too, looks funny and makes the viewer smile ![]() .. It’s also a dank plant. Now I think all the others are quality snapshots, but aren’t really very artistic per say. If you are just scrolling over the thread, you will notice that every single picture is centered perfectly. DONT DO THAT! There is an old rule in photography. The 9 grid rule. ![]() Photographers are taught to not center all of their shots. Some pictures work centered some don’t. Try placing your subject where the lines intersect, then use the viewfinder from there. Also, look at the picture before you take it. You can do that now easier than ever! If you look at all your bud shots, maybe you could have held the bud at an angle or something and gotten the bud with some depth of field? Start it a little blurry, then let it become picture perfect, or vise versa. might give you that look you are looking for. Try both. That’s the best part about photography this day in age. You can take a countless amount of pictures for free. No film! ![]() The budshots are ok snapshots, but they kind of get boring quick. What I mean is I looked at the budshots for about 3-4 seconds each, then moved on. I spent a good 30-45 seconds checking out and viewing the last one, and I keep going back to it. Its just a cool shot. naaaa mean? Other than that the best piece of advice would be HOTDA... HOLD THE DAMN CAMERA STILL ... Or buy a tripod, which it looks like you used. Props for that! If you want to know what depth of field is and how to use it, just google it and im sure there are sites that give you a simple explaination of it. It is an easy concept to grasp. Hope I have taught some people today some simple, easy techniques that will start producing some POTW winners! Remember, it isn’t the dankest nug that wins the POTW, it’s the dankest photo. ![]() -Jane

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think the confusion is because DangerEd started his grow journal in his My Journal section rather than in the Soil Grow Journals forum.

That about sums it up. I dont know which would be better, I would be happy to help if a thread would be helpful. It seems that this style of grow is getting pretty popular. ![]()
