Here I will be journaling a clone that is all but dead. The Story I took several clones from a CR plant. CR as far as I know is a.k.a. Crystal and I aquired a clone from a friend a couple of years back. The clone grew and was cloned and it produced some of the prettiest buds I have ever seen. One of my last harvests had hermied and produced some seeds. The plant that this particular clone that I am journaling here, came from a plant I sprouted from the hermie seeds. The clones I took from this plant were placed in a cloner that I had previously used to sterilize some leca stone with bleach. Apparently the bleach didn't wash completely out of the cloner and all of the clones have been slowly dieing. Rookie mistake I know, but it should make for an interesting recovery. The Goal To completely revive this clone and flower it. I already know it is female because I currently have a seperate clone from the same mother in full bloom that should be harvested within the next week. I would like to see this clone produce at least an oz. by mid May. Why? Because I am bored. Normally I would just toss these clones out and forget about it. In fact, the 14 other clones will meet that fate. However, I thought this would make a good thread for the Visual Inspiration forum. The Photo I know this isn't the best photo ever, but it was the best I could do at the moment. I am just too lazy to try again. ![]() ![]() As you can see from the photo, I am not working with much here. It is currently in a 16 oz. plastic cup with holes in the bottom. The clone is approximately 2 inches tall and has 1 set of badly damaged leaves and an unpromising new set forming. It was taken about a month ago and had a wilted tap root barely poking from the bottom of the rockwool cube it was in. It is in a fresh mix of Miracle Gro soil and perlite and I gave it water straight from the tap. It sits in indirect light from my 400w MH. Let's see what happens... ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I haven't forgotten about this little project, just nothing to report on yet really. Still not much improvement, but it is still hanging in there, so I will not give up hope. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It looks like my patience is paying off. This plant is now on it's way to a full recovery. I have just been giving it plain water and keeping it under my 1000w MH during the day and under the 400w MH at night. It still isn't growing super fast, but it has made some progress. ![]()

![]() | This is why I do not like MiracleGro products including their soils. Too many mineral salts buildup up, shocking the whole vascular system of the plant.... Good luck!

Very nice recovery. Sounds like you may have had a slight bout with pythium during that rooting process. Future clones from that clone will have a lower resistance to pythium attack so if you plan of taking clones of it, avoid too much moisture in the rooting medium. (this is also important as it grows into a larger plant, really avoid overwatering). So far this thread is doing alot to support the thought "Where theres Green, theres hope" Keep'er growing NDS

Awesome. I have plants that are worse off because of my ignorance but now after completely changing the soil and some TLC they are on their way to recovery. Grow on and don't give up. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ive taken a single leaf cutting a half inch long from a 3-weeks-into-flowering plant and made a perfect mother out of it. Plants like to live. Fig cuttings are put in a cold wet box for up to 3 months before being rooted... and still alive...
