I got a water meter that is 1-10 1-3 is red 3-8 is green 8-10 is blue Now, ive read that underwatering to the point that the plant droops causes stress, and that having a water meter and watering before the plant begins to droop is ideal. But which point on the meter is good to water? I'm guessing 3? What are some other watering techniques that dont involve the droopiness factor?

Push the meter down 2" into the soil. If its reading 3-4, water. I usually test in a few different spots (same plant) to make sure the reading is accurate. Watering also changes slightly depending on your plants age. For young plants - keep the top of the soil moist. As they get older, you can let the top of the soil dry out and use the 2-inch method. As for "droopiness" - this is the plants way of telling you something. It either needs water or is overwatered. Watch your plants and learn to respond. Older plants will droop sometimes after a heavy watering, but bounce back within 4 hours or so. Later, -s

![]() ![]() | I would go lower, down to 1, Thats the way I water my plants and I've yet to have any drooping.

im gonna tell you that i wait for the plant to droop to give it iwater it will recover from the droop in as little as an hour but while you get used to watering by the meter wait till the meter reads a 1 or less to water as a clue i have five plants in 3.5 gallon pails the plants take a total of three gallons once a week and twice a week in latest flowering

I've been using about 2 gal. for 4 1/2 (got a little girl that Iwas growing as a spare and had 4 girls to begin with) plants. Was at 7 days but it's going about 5 now that they're into flowering.

I bought one the other day. It has a dry, damp and wet zone. I thought I needed to water the plants but the moisture meter said that the dirt was still in the wet zone. It probably saved me from overwatering my plants. It's a good little tool.
